The sky pattern really does Animate the desirable there are patterns to track and things and all that So before we play beautiful music as our intro into you know the ancient world that is seeking a bridge to us… I didn’t mean to introduce interrupt the jolly conversation about ramp and butter and good things that was but perfect but that is like the Mars interest but does anybody else want to chime in more or put things before the council or or or any old thing?
(Oh this is Chris Chris in San Francisco) Hurray (Yeah I had the wild good fortune last week of being made the liason to misdemeanor behavioral health court here in San Francisco where my agency throws keys to beautiful and rowdy prisoners.) Well what does that entail? (Well you know. I literally go pick people up at San Francisco County jail and bring them back to our office and do a little assessment. And help identify resources – the lack of which contributed to their incurring charge. And people and people in mental health court automatically get housing.) So it behooves us all to be in mental health court but I loved it did you arrange the chiming of the bells just now? (If I had thought of it I would have.) {That was a great sound effect! Wow!} That was genius that was really. That was like Angel’s coming to celebrate your appointment. So well yes well thank you thank you for doing that and yes May All of your clients be in mental health court. (Well I am. Well the bells are seconding that. Well I could not do this work with the support team.) Yay! (Because it’s not it’s not light duty.) No it’s Pluto duty – but that’s why we were lightening up to deepen down you know for all those who voyage into the deep deep realms we gather to lighten up. But again arranging the bells was genius on your part. So great although they’re a little late. [Sounds like you’re in the bell tower yourself!] Yeah that could be. It’s the belfry! It’s what the sound of mental health court should be. Yes if we could just change the cacaphony of the modern world you know all the alarm bells and everything are exactly wrong, you know they should be beautiful sounds like that going ‘the buildings on fire it’s time to get up now’ rather than ne-ne-ne-ne!
So the bells are really good. Aramaic chanting that’s really the soundtrack for now through the ancient world is serenading us so perfect with the the chart we have before us which is – the only planet in the Air is Jupiter rising in the East, Retrograde (so retrieving beauty from the past you know to invite invite in to the modern world), Jupiter in Libra Venus’ sign, Venus just stationing – going direct on the fifteenth – and then you all got to see the pretty great photo of me fuzzy on a camel welcoming back Venus (the heliacal rise of Venus) from Mount Sinai – Whoa what a journey. Part of the scouting report is you know the journeys- Jupiter is the journey inward and the journey outward – and when we go to a place it really has an entheogenic effect. Of the, my first night in Egypt was – I been reading so much ‘Book of the Dead’ and everything, but it was very much I couldn’t sleep. And it was like that papyrus, which I now have a copy of of the soul being weighed to the heart being weighed against a feather – Judgement Day – And we remember from tarot cards that judgment day is not one day, it repeats itself, its over and over again there we go, with the heart weighed against the feather and and in that in that night sort of like a visitation of the power of some of the Egyptian mythology. It was sort of a festival of repentance, the heart weighed against the feather and I remembered everyone I’ve ever known and everyone who’d done me a slight and everyone whoever I’d slighted. Addressing discern curiosity blessing – there we go. So very powerful and we go and so I was just the first night before I even began to dive in! And remembering, remembering, we are remembering you know what we’re here, remembering our weird we are to dree, you know that we are here as dedicated agents of liberating blessing, as we run into these initiations of challenging circumstances or people, and go ‘no there we go we are seeing every one connected to their own wise autonomy’ arararagh ‘Yes – no we’re seeing everyone connected to their own wise autonomy’ there we go. Yeah and compassion.
So as we begin you know I love our chart thirteen Scorpio Rising which is Edward Snowden’s Moon it’s image is “telephone line men at work installing links to other realities the cosmic switchboard” so we go ‘ahhh’ so our little group again here we are welcome new people ancient long time people everyone you know gathered in this little circle of firelight we call the physical world (as Terry Pratchett says) surrounded by a vast pulsing mystery. And the vast pulsing desert. And I love that music so much because it is Aramaic, the kind of roots before you know Arabic and and Hebrew going ‘right the Oneness way back’ there it’s very desert music-ish as well the beauty that comes from the desert and I did spend three nights in the Bedouin desert very powerful with Jupiter sailing overhead (right on my Saturn) presiding over the night going woooo. Mars is setting in – Mars in Taurus setting in the west just as it is right now. The two Venus realms of Libra and Taurus, to invite you know again inviting the stories of our kinship with the natural world. That’s why I also love just the backstage conversation I skidded in on with evangeline talking about ramp and beautiful plants and making the butter and all of that with all that’s great – that’s very Mars in Taurus. And then the Chris in San Francisco you know. Being a mediatetrix you know people in mental health court get housing and we go on there we go and that’s really good. So yes May the natural world of ramp to be wedded to the mental health cases of all those you know all in in in trouble in the modern world – and we weave these together – and May the that beautiful music – the Aramaic chanting – be a soundtrack a soundtrack to everything.
So we are pattern tracking beings And for those who have an affinity with this language and might have noticed that there’s so much symmetry (again we love symmetry). Saturn is stationing just retrograded at twenty seven degrees of Sagittaurius – whose image is “an ancient bridge” – quintiles Jupiter (so again ancient bridge you know retrieving in our Our own personal lives and then in the collective life as well you know, that irresistible eloquence of bridging back to beauty to bring it forward!) So we are invited to reflect on the journey of our lives – Jupiter is life viewed as a journey of sequential unfoldment – it’s not pick one thing and do it forever, it’s we do this and that becomes that, and that becomes that, and that becomes that …all the time. And Jupiter has one hundred fifty degree angle to Neptune this caravan of dreams that we’re on, going oh! So Saturn is at twenty seven degrees Sagittarius, exactly squaring the Venus emerging from the underworld as the morning star at twenty seven Pisces whose image is, “A fertile garden under a full moon the strangely alive” we go, ooh! Mars is at twenty seven Taurus “a mature woman reawakens to romance” is it’s Sabian Symbol. We have Saturn at twenty seven degrees Venus at twenty seven degrees Mars at twenty seven degrees and so there’s a Wonderful pattern there. And a bunch of other planetary parts of ourselves are pretty close you know – Chiron is on the twenty six, all of these things that we’ll will pattern and Co wonder about but yeah.
So Jupiter you know retrograde, it is so presiding over the night sky and you know out in the Bedouin desert for three nights just no tent just sleeping out there going ‘wooo we’re so intimate’ and the desert I realized you know it’s so entheogenic – the reason people take ayahuasca mushroom or anything is to feel the desert you know because it’s so – the silence is really is dazzling it’s so alive. It’s like hmmmhmmmh and and it seems very harsh and powerfully barren in the daytime in a dramatic way but at night or actually waking in the morning one sees around one, around my sleeping bag, lots and lots of tracks going oooh! lots of little creatures were scoping me out going and our great guide Dr Rabia said ‘no it’s very alive it’s very alive’ and I go ‘what’s that track it’s like a snake with feet?’ and he goes ‘yes it’s it’s it’s a snake with feet!’ oho! it’s a lizard being and there were all these tracks again all around and then the tracks woven in symmetry up to this little sand dune behind my sleeping bag that was so beautifully patterned going who it’s all alive even when it looks barren it’s all alive whoa! So Jupiter prevailing you know. Again it’s all about the power of story. And as I journeyed through Egypt, reminding us all of what we need and it’s so much the power of story. And when you know outside Cairo we we went to Wadi Natrun you know Wadi is valley and Natrun is salt. And Dr Rabia explained that in the time of the pharaohs, that this valley was full of farmers peasants whose job was to mine salt for the embalming process. And then the early Christian monks and mystics in in the desert and Wadi Natrun, came along and said you know ‘oh you poor hardworking serfs and peasants and farmers – we have a better story – a story of Christianity and here we will give you food and and solace.’ And the peasant said ‘that is a better story – yes we’ll go with that story.’ And as we were driving through Dr Rabia said ‘and now this is one of the great areas of the Muslim Brotherhood recruitment’ and it’s why, you know there were there were a lot of security (and we’ll get to the bombings in Egypt as well because we were there not near the bombings but but it did resonate throughout the whole country and throughout the world and it was on Palm Sunday, as Mercury was stationing at the degree whose Sabian is “a widow at an open grave weeping” and we go, auh) but there are there are there’s quite a lot of security, and and every now and then they wanted to stash a security person you know in our little our little bus, but usually Dr Rabia would persuade them not to do that. And we were well guided and well protected and we never ever felt in danger – but we were driving for this place that is the area of the Muslim Brotherhood – and again it’s the story. Because the Muslim Brotherhood comes in now and says ‘oh you know the Christian monasteries they haven’t been giving you much food because there’s not much action so they haven’t been providing you know here we will provide for you and here’s our story it’s a better story’ right and now it’s a toxic mimic but again it’s the story, it’s who’s got the better story – to to reach out and go ‘oh you poor suffering people we have a better story for you’ so that’s why you know part of our gathering is you know – to have a better story. I mean an authentic better story not a toxic mimic of a better story.

So that part of Wadi Natrun really stayed with me and throughout the whole realm of journeying and all about story and journeying through time and through through countryside and through ruins, and mm the powerful desert, saint Catherine’s monastery (early fifth century monastery) You know and then also Egypto antiquity and all of its complexity. But through everything one can see a kind of the history of religion. And that all the players in the modern world have always been with us. You know him in their villainous and positive forms, as they are today, but today they’re (as Pluto stations and retrogrades on Thursday going well here we are – Diving into deep places) but never before have up to no good players had such a technology of efficient destruction and disharmony and loss of kinship. So Jupiter in Libra is the stories of connectedness and kinship – not only with you know with each other but with nature. And then we do so in one sense what i mean by all the players have been there, is that as you travel through time – so in the Egyptian antiquities it’s like and here’s Queen Hatshepsut you know – with whom I share a nose, I was in the Egyptian Museum and we came across a statue of Queen Hatshepsut and even the guide said ‘she has your nose’ and I go ‘she does’ you know it’s the exact same nose and we go ah kinship, and hers is a complex story and you know through history and some people thought she was grumpy in many things but but her stepson, who returns from exile, wreaks vengeance by etching out her name everywhere, going ‘no destroy the past destroy the past and put my name on that thing’ and you know throughout Egyptian antiquity you have you know all these complex beauty and knowledge and all kinds of things but also you know. Diesh basically different groups coming along going ‘destroy the past destroying the past put one’s name on it destroying all things of the past’ and in many many ways, like we come across roadside shrines and Dr Rabia would explain to us how they’d fallen, these beautiful places. Because the rise also of you know diesh which the Western press called Isis you know wants to destroy the past and that includes you know reverence in shrines that are not ‘Orthodox’ that are not sanctioned You know so so this impulse of destruction of the past, which is so rampant right now you know, has always been there again but not with such you know efficiency. In all the different players you know all of all there are going Oh-kay.
So part of you know my affinity and that I think is is before all of us in this beautiful chart is to be searching in the past for all of our lore and all that we’ve loved them and that includes you know evangeline and the ramp and all of those things you know what – who brought what to this renaissance? You know in the journey of our lives we are the sum of these journeys and these affinities and these knowledgs and these lores – and they all want to be brought back into the modern world. The modern world needs not only from our our solo lives recent journeying in past, like what did we study that gave us heart, what poetry, what plant lore, what you know mental health you know healing technology, all of these things are very ancient and through the miracle of each one of our uniqueness, one we’ve brought alive – now now. I think of you know all the beauty and teaching and wisdom and divinities and metaphoric guides, they are backstage you know eating popcorn as they watch the modern world going ‘Oh my God look at them I hope they invite I hope they invite us back because we’d love to bound on to the world stage to help but we need to be invited.’ And that’s why also Jupiter in Libra the art form of blessing, the art form of the invitation and the art form of inviting in what we need. And as always, a trickster principle is – if we don’t know what to do, invite in what does! Going, I don’t know to come on and you know whatever we need now come on and so you know for all of us here on this call you know come on in! And also as we as we convene, the point over head twenty one Leo is “a carrier pigeon trains for it’s mission” you know that theme that all of us have something crucial to do ha ha ha ha so. And the art form of embodying. So yes – the history of religion authentic to tyrannical elite to superstition to a better story to to to be authentic then to be a tyrannical elite and then superstition into a better story you know we see these rounds, right, and it’s not exactly a circle – because remember as trickster as we love throwing lightning at the circle turning it into a liberating spiral we go there we go so.

And so there is so delightful that is so synchronous that is so heartening it was with us wonderful – Yes yes yes consignment of imphepho on the way! And Rod had taught me to say it mmmm-paypo, mmm-paypo – so that’s all that’s great so what we’re talking about by Jimminy what we’re talking about is actually true! By a great a great plant ally.
And then Elizabeth writes ‘big socio political questions our daily bread here but since it’s Venus time is there a way to relate Venus energy to the political?’ YES YES YES YES YES. And I don’t know if you go I have a personal question but something I I guess I would I would keep to myself I suppose. Yes it looks like a personal but if you want me to bring it before the council just send another e-mail. So is there a way to relate Venus energy to the political? Well absolutely everything relates to everything – remember the Venus cycle – Well you know in the West you know it’s all the goddesses, It’s Inanna who goes to the underworld, in Mesoamerica it’s Quetzalcoatl, Venus is a guy and when Venus in Mesoamerica goes to the underworld it’s the Quetzalcoatl myth and a wise literate mythologically literate pre-superstituous culture would understand, it is a time who when leadership has gone away to reinvent itself. you know it’s the Quetzalcoatl myth and the Venus cycle is that Quetzalcoatl is a pretty good leader. And then he gets a little remote and people start whispering Tezcatlipoca, The Lord of the smoking mirror, comes to him and says, ‘You’re getting old you know and but drink this Baal Che drink this intoxicating liquor drink and you’ll feel just great you know so he drinks the Baal Che (today we can think of many ways to translate this) and he’s drunk on not true power you know because again the muti invites in true power but drunk on corporate alliances and bad things and he violates every taboo and I think he sleeps with a sister or his daughter and whatever and he wakes up in the morning going Oh my I’ve really messed up and he goes away and that’s that’s Venus going to the underworld to reclaim appropriate leadership. So yeah and I’ll tease it into the western mythos too but so the Mayans would understand Venus disappearing and then reappearing just now as a time when it’s necessary to reinvent to un-Baal-che a leadership in some form and it was due to a terrible historic mistake of not understanding things metaphorically that when Quetzalcoatl Venus was to reappear is when Cortez showed up and they mistook the plundering thug for the return of wise leadership. What a bad idea that was. That was also what was going on during the Republican convention in Cleveland is Venus was also just returning from the underworld in Leo, The Return Of The King – it’s like no no no not a human not a human it’s the birth of the charitable true charisma in everyone’s heart – not Donald Trump no. Oh no! but the humans there like Cortez they mistook the human for the mythological. No – what about idea that was! But that’s why our mythological literacy is crucial.
But so on one level you know the Venus disappeared into the underworld for a fairly short time usually it’s forty days. And I had to go around because all of the people lecturing to us about you know I mean fantastic lectures in the monastery these ancient scholars and they were going ‘and forty days and forty nights and forty this’… And also in Egyptian theology when the soul, when the soul, when when the when the body dies you know it’s forty days later there’s a ceremony because then it needs it needs its guiding thing but they’re all going ‘so the Christians invented forty days’ or ‘so the Egyptians’ …it’s like no it’s older than all of them. You know forty days is the Venus cycle. That’s where it comes from you modern whippersnapper Christians! And then it’s adopted in many biblical ways.
Venus retrograded you know from Aries (woof*woof) All the way back into the sign of her exaltation in Pisces (the realm of compassion – that we’re all in this dream together) all the way back to twenty six plus Pisces. Where Chiron is right now which is “The Harvest Moon a vision of peace.” It is as though Venus in the (well both in both mythologies) snapped her or his fingers going ‘wait a minute wait a minute before I reenter the fray of the modern political and everything world – there’s something I must retrieve. I must go back to find the vision of peace. I must go back to listen to the beautiful Aramaic chanting. I must go back and find that and bring it forward bring it forward. And then re enter Aries to bring what is of value alive in a completely fresh new vernacular way.’ But so that the memory of kinship the memory of kinship is cruical. So it is political because really what the universe has in mind especially, I mean I would put it that way, the Venus in Aries you know is that – that beauty and kinship reassume collective leadership, and art. And that’s one of the things again you know moving through the anicent world of incredibly complex art and beauty is that art was an essential part of leadership. In the modern world this has kind of been exiled,which is the realm of Pisces – everything of value that’s been exiled, undervalued, dissed, but said to be where a culture’s soul or it’s replenishing vision lives. So sort of exiled into the kind of you know third section of the newspaper, or fringy ‘oh you’re an artist over there’ and it’s like ‘no – artists were the center’ you know, artists designers architects and healers – all the same.
