Tele*Coyote*Communing (6/28/10)

The Wedding of Grief and Joy

Moon Dog

The past and the new experimental opportunity
(Saturn opposite Jupiter-Uranus)

June 28, 2010
6pm PDT, 9pm EDT

Yo Team,
splendid to reconvene in this wild cataclysmic time for which we were born.
With the Solstice plus Full Moon-Lunar Eclipse wind in our sails, let us stabilize and find our balancing ballast, as we set forth…
(’cause it is emotionally tippy, were we to feel without a boat, without reciprocal blessing. But phew, we have such as we need and can best conjure together.)

My most Beloved Moon Dog died, departed his body, left this world (whatever we call this mystery when the body is no longer alive)
on the Summer Solstice, as I was preparing my talk in California. May he cavort in perpetual dynamic peace, with full woofy gratitude
or his splendiferous great hearted companionship for these past 14 and a half years.
This is my micro great grief (Saturn and Pluto), the death of the past, and simultaneous opening to the new experimental opportune adventures
(Uranus and Jupiter in early Aries, kinda literal as my Wolf has died, leaving me unmediated with Stella Coyote, an actual and metaphoric Aries. Long Live the Medicine Coyote – skookum for now.)
with our ongoing dedication to language, metaphor and story that makes synchronous wonders available, encouraging us to bark with delight.

So, the path has opened for me to attend today, as press (Coyote Network News) the following TED Council on the crisis of the Ocean.
But, bien sur, I will be back n time for our council, with much to report.

  1. Gruff Regards

    Beautiful Companion
    greatest adviser
wordless eloquence of wisdom and joy
    ever gracefilled and grateful
his boundless youth has bounded on
with more than a little of mine
    in his happy jaws
    preserving it for future romps
    in green fields together
    again

  2. oh just saw your entry Caroline.

am very touched by the image of your dear friend in the dog suit, and moved by your words.

also would like to express gratitude to Hal for such beauty.

  3. What a beautiful dog!

Related to what you said about the oil spill moving scientists beyond their usual stuck-in-their-heads-ness… I was just listening to a podcast of Science Friday (NPR), a segment on Benjamin Franklin. When the host asked the guests what they would ask Franklin if they could talk to him today, they said they’d ask about what to do about the oil disaster, since Franklin was interested in fluids and had studied the gulf stream. They also said they’d ask him about global warming (er… catastrophic climate change!). I was thinking, let’s invoke him! Then the host said “Let’s hope we can channel Ben Franklin.” He laughed, but I could hear the wistfulness in their voices, wanting this ancestor’s help.
