Re-Storying the World

Re-trieving, re-weaving, re-searching-Beauty,
whereby Venus reanimates intimate cahooting with the world…

Jupiter is rising retrograde at the degree of solicitude…
So we are Journeying, inward and back-wards
to retrieve, what was lost, forgotten- until now!

Rummaging in the past excavates lost connections,
mystery and beauty…

Scraps of paper are surfacing in synchronous pertinence:
“We had little, we have all been close to death,
then we found rhythm, now we have much.”
(from Jason Cohen and the band Incus)

– Saturn, our rhythm, in Sagittarius – Jupiter’s sign,
trining Uranus – brought alive through fresh expression.

And in the back of a bookshelf, found a long ago 2012
thank you note from a wondrous client who had visited,
with a great Quote to honor our meeting; wonderful for us,
and for me, as I prepare to journey to Egypt at the end
of the month, and of us all metaphorically now.

Rilke’s letter to a friend (1923) : ‘The Joys of Travel’

“O, the joys of travel! To feel the excitement of sudden departure, not always knowing whither. Surely you and I are in agreement about that. How often did my life seem concentrated in that single moment of departure. To travel far, far – and that first morning awakening under a new Sky. And to find oneself in it – no, to discover more of oneself there. To experience there too, where one has never been before, one’s own continuity of being and, at the same time, to feel that something in your heart, somehow indigenous to this new land, is coming to life from the moment of your arrival. You feel your blood infused with some new intelligence, wondrously nourished by things you had no way of knowing.”

and with that note, the client had enclosed a wrapped
present for Stella, a pair of well-worn leather gloves…
and here’s Stella, with her present, which she unwrapped,
reminding us to unwrap the presents bestowed on us
all the time… that are at hand.

And dusting off my Joseph Campbell book,
“The Way of the Animal Powers,” inscribed with a
powerfully resonant inscription from him, a mentor.
Let us give gratitude to all our mentors!

In his introduction he writes:

“The unfolding through time of all things from one, is the simple message, finally of every one of the creation myths (herein)…They become an effective mythic image the moment we recognize its own inner mystery. By the same magic, every god that is dead can be conjured to life again, as any fragment of rock from a hillside, set respectfully in a garden, will arrest the eye. This ‘Historical Atlas of World Mythology’ is to be a garden of thus re-animated gods.”

Sunday’s last Full Moon of Winter, is animating
the dormant soul of America (Full Moon = 22+ Virgo,
Neptune 22+ Virgo July, 4, 1776, also Obama’s Mars)
What was asleep is quickening… Re-New-All!

But poignant: Storm Stella Snows late tonight
(on East Coast) so Stella Coyote and I be snug,
yet dire divinations abound, the tender flowering buds
of premature Spring are about to encounter the
late Arctic blast of Winter.

We do what we can solicitously with encouragement,
tarps, and seed for the birds and squirrels…

As we re-animate the beauty from the past,
personal and collective, to be our living accomplices now…

  1. Your story about hidden wealth reminds me of something that happened to me recently. The guy at the carwash told me that my car really needed to have a detailed cleaning. So, I asked him how much it cost. He said $220. I made a face and said, “Oh, I will do that when I am rich.” He turned and said, “Perhaps you are not wealthy, but you are rich.” That hit me like a thunderbolt. He’s right! I am rich! I think coming from this place of richness and abundance is the key to coping with our current circumstances.
