Sky Pattern – Quick Look

All of this is – everything is coming up to be brought alive, by each one of us, in our fresh and unique way. All these parts of our Collective Intelligence that the Planets represent, Collective Intelligence that resides within us, and that we can track and see throughout Creation – they are the Large Alphabet, really, of Intelligent Creation – and as they move in their different patterns, we say some things are always true but some things rise to availability and prominence!

• We’re in this watery realm right now, we just had the New Moon Eclipse on Sunday in Pisces – the last new moon before the end of Pisces, the end of the Zodiac – before the zodiacal new spring, in a month with the New Moon in Aries.  So it is dissolving thing, dissolving things…
• There is this sweet embrace (in the sky right now) with Mercury and the Sun, and Neptune, and little asteroid Pallas Athena, and Chiron, and the Moon – all in Pisces (which is meant to be this sweetness, this Yemaya – which is the great mother, it is the ocean, it is the embrace, it is our kinship, and we go ooooo we love that sweetness, which is available!
• Jupiter does remind us that it is a time of all the different parts of ours lives – the journey of the last 12 years, and 24 years, 36 years…really the whole journey begins to spark, What have we ever done that was good and useful to us? 

• Jupiter right now, for everybody, is kind of like a detective novel, of tracking all the different things and the different chapters of one’s life because they are All Coming Alive!  Jupiter, right now in the chart, is getting ready to rise in the East – it will be rising at about 9:30pm est – at 22° of Libra – it is opposite Uranus and Mars at 22° of Aries.
• Jupiter is the quickening, and the syncretizing of our journey in an energetic way.
• Remember, the Intelligence of Jupiter – which is quickening, quickening, quickening – is to cast the net of curiosity widely, according to our affinities, inhale it back in, edit  …Extending, inhaling, editing (I like this from here, but not that, and this from over here, but not that) brewing, syncretizing (syncretizing is a sacrament, meaning ‘to stir things together’ ‘to blend things’ – it’s that welcoming of diversity into a unique and liberating brew.  So – extending, inhaling, syncretizing (putting this together in a new and interesting way), and then putting out into the world.
• Part of this Jupiter exactly opposite Mars and Uranus – is It’s Alive, again, all the different parts of us are available and popping up which is why meeting the world with a kind of curiosity (extended reach, going Oh hello, what’s up? Opening things at random, everything is talking to us, the journals..)
• Mars and Uranus trining Saturn in Jupiter’s sign, Sagittarius… The Saturn trine Uranus says what is available, what is being generously proffered to us, is The energy is so strong, that to step off it – is to run right into it. 
• Jupiter opposite Uranus – nothing is stuck, anything could happen… everything we’ve ever done bubbles up to us if we open the book, if we step into the woods, if we are available… There is a lot going on.  And part of that is we love clarifying our dedication.  We are always being encouraged to write our Manifesto of Dedicated Devotion, even if it is just a sentence,  even just a sentence a day…What are we dedicated to?   Jupiter chimes in and says, What are you dedicated to? What is your definition of wealth? What is your definition of a wealth life? You write it, we’ll book it!  
• Jupiter opposite Mars Uranus: Genius is available to everybody – breakthrough, evolution; personal level, collective level – there is a renaissance that really wants to happen.
• Jupiter opposite Mars Uranus also says, Everything that has ever moved us is stirring, and everything that has ever moved humans to conscious kinship is bubbling and is available for fresh unique animation.  And our unique, historically pertinent, experimentation is to Tricksterize everything – to go, What would be it even more liberated? Even more spicy?
• Venus is in Aries, still visible in the Western sky until March 22nd, around then, when we won’t see her anymore in the West. Venus has been blazingly visible from about January 1st to March 22nd – still incredibly glorious in the Western sky – so fabulous.  And then she will retrograde (part of her retrograde cycle, the apparent backwards motion from the earth’s perspective) – and that will be March 4th – Venus stations in Retrograde – so she begins her retrograde cycle.  And she disappears from the evening sky around March 22nd, said to be going to the Underworld, usually she disappears for about 40 days (which is the Ianna myth) – but this time, she is only gone from March 22nd to March 30th when she re-emerges as the Morning Star.  Venus says, Can’t leave those humans unsupervised for 40 days, I’m just going away for 8! And Mars remains visible.
• The Sun’s image today is, Aviator, master of the high realms, fly across the sky –  setting in motion projects that will benefit the next seven generations.  
• And the Sun is right next to Neptune, saying, All the powerful images that have ever brought humans to conscious kinship are available now – for fresh animation.
• Pisces, the very end of the Zodiac (the end of the Zodiac, all of the myths, all of the dreams), and then – all this action in Aries, the beginning! We move towards the quickening, and the Vernal Equinox (Mars, Uranus and Venus are already there – in Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac).
• Venus magnetizes (come on in, come on in) Mars animates it – and opposite Jupiter, says, You humans are so wealthy, all of these things are all around you, to play with. And they are hopping up and down, whatever shows up in dreams, and elsewhere, now is very a lively field – and when we tap into that, it feels good; and when we don’t, it feels horrible.  Situation so dire we can’t afford the luxury of realism (I often quip to myself).  Co-operators are standing by, awaiting animation – and that’s the positive Mars (and part of the Mars-Uranus dynamic).
• Jupiter opposite Mars & Uranus – We are wealthy with ingenious solutions, to every horribleness around us.
• And part of the Grand Square of Now – Jupiter opposite Mars and Uranus, and then both of those are squaring Pluto  – and then both of those are squaring Vesta, little asteroid Vesta (Vesta says, wherever in our lives we go, Oh waily, waily, this didn’t happen…Vesta goes, No, no, just denied, delayed, and deepened – everything is right on schedule).  
• Jupiter is retrograde – meaning it’s apparent motion is backwards from the earth’s perspective.  Everything is a guide, so Jupiter is saying, re-search, re-member, re-…Go backwards in order to go forwards, go backwards because there is something in our rich past that we are magnetized to, that wants to come alive, that wants to be an accomplice.
• Jupiter is retrograde in Libra (the Art – the realm of Venus) – the art form of storycrafting – opposite to Uranus, Trickster, in Aries.  It will be exact on March 2nd. 
• Venus in Aries turns stationary, retrograde on March 4th, until April 15th. So Venus, we can animate this a number of ways, but a retrograde (I like thinking of a retrograde as, what that planet represents is going on a vision quest to re-store it’s authenticity (the real purpose of story, and the real purpose of theatre)…And as Venus stations and then retrogrades on March 4th, it’s like she snaps her fingers and goes, Wait, wait – I forgot something, let me go back into Pisces… (the sign of her exaltation). She’s going to go all the way back into late Pisces, into 26+ Pisces, station there, so go all the way back into the collective realm, and we with her (some part of us) to station at the beautiful degree [Sabian Symbol] “A Harvest Moon Rising in the Evening Sky, a Vision of Peace”.  She’s going back to get the Vision of Peace, from every culture, from every animal, from every thing, from every Salam, Shalom, she’s going back to re-treive that. “A Harvest Moon, a Vision of Peace, Fruition, Emotional Realization of What Has Been and What Can Be Accomplished, Ripeness, Celebration.” So she goes backwards to going, Wait a minute, I know I forgot something…Right! The Vision of Peace, let me go back and get that and then come back into the Aries (backwards into collection realm of Pisces and then back into Aries).
• Full Moon with Sun in Pisces and Moon in Virgo occurs on March 12, 2017. 
• New Moon with Sun and Moon in Aries occurs on March 27, 2017.
• Jupiter retrograde in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn on March 30, 2017.  The Story of Pluto – the story of what gets us through, in our harrowing adventures, and when we were alone.  And remember Robert Bly reading Kabir, saying, One day you decided to go into the woods completely alone and that’s why everything you do has some weird failure to it…It’s kind of fun.  And it’s all part of the mix, when I quote Robert’s version of Rumi, saying, A man who is depressed is a thief and steals from god everyday – It’s just one perception, put it in your pipe and smoke it, put it in your brew, add it to other things…Nothing is Absolute or Only.  Jupiter reminds us that there is always 20, 30, 40 stories going on at once and they can all be conflicting, and they can all be true. Which one are we going to vote to animate? Which one are we going to feed, and partner with, and dance with and enliven out of all these possibilities
• The Jupiter-Pluto dynamic is, when we have gone through in the darkness, and everything we do has had some weird failure associated with it, what got us through? What was useful?  I love Martin Prechtel saying, Imagine the Divine as a puppy, licking your face going, ‘Jump up and Live!’ And that’s brewing now, in the midst of Piscean melancholy, it’s like, Jump up and Live! Jump back into the thing, take one step, move 10 things in your house – as an experiment, and go, That did feel really good.  It’s kind of like, Snap out of the trance, to join the trance of choice! 
• Uranus-Trickster says, We are Big Gods, we don’t really care what you humans do, we care the manner in which you do it – that it be from freedom and choice.  My current favorite ‘sleight of hand’ is, Hiding is Prison (it’s a con in that way), Solitude is Liberating (a liberating trick) – They can look the same. It’s for each one of us to wonder, Am I hiding? (which would be a con) or, Am I involved in Liberating Solitude? Sometimes we can’t tell, but in any case, our dedication (Uranus trine Saturn) our dedication to being agents of liberated blessing. That’s what is really available right now.  By dedication, may we all be attracted to that which is good for us. We wish it for ourselves.
• Jupiter-Pluto: ‘The first square occurred November 24, 2016’ – but we’re in that cycle – ‘the last time the square will occur is August 4th’ (Lammas, pretty close).  So we’re in that cycle of the Phoenix’s song, so it says to each one of us, If (separately or together) we have the capacity to direct collective attention [it’s kind of like considering the egregor, what do we want to animate?] .. if we (each one of us and also the experiment of us as group) had the capacity to direct Collective Attention (in secret ways, or not, either way) – what would that be?  To each person going, What is your Phoenix’s song? In what form would you sing it?  If one had the capacity, to spiral into Group Mind that which one deems is really important, what would that be? There is no snappy answer to that, it wants to be a wondering.  And a worthy wondering.
• Positive Mars: (Uranus to Mars is the liberating of Mars) – Mars (which resides in all of us) is the Yang kind of Grrrr – it’s the hero, from protestor to protector.  Mars and Uranus – the hero within us all (regardless of our temporary gender assignment), the positive Yang within us all, who is liberating and dedicated to protecting as much life as possible.

• Gareth Knight writes, “Dion Fortune’s magickal act worked on several sound magickal theories: She believed that trained ritualists could combine their efforts to influence the collective Will of the British people, not any one individual.” Now, this is also before our council, because on the [Trickster  Council] facebook page, and then everywhere on facebook also, kind of spirited  –  the ‘witches and scientists gathering together’ [to cast a spell on drumpelstiltskin]… There was the ritual being put forth that people on Friday, the 24th at midnight east coast and 9pm west coast, do a binding ritual on Trump..write his name, put a pin in a cheeto or something… And some people took umbrage, and I have a little cautionary pause, meaning – we love the (here’s another fun occult term) tyro – the beginning initiate, not practiced, not necessarily refined – but we go, but we are directors of traffic – so we like the energetic impulse, but it might need some clarifying… I like the creative impulse, but maybe not binding, maybe setting free, not focusing on one person, or may so… It’s a worthy conversation.  We remember that our primary dedication is to be agents of liberating blessing to everything – fierce blessing, yes, May those abusing power be moved to a place they can no longer harm themselves by harming others. We’re allowed to set in motion anything of which we would be the happy recipient – so we go, Would we welcome somebody writing our name with a pin on a cheeto? (If we looked like a cheeto?) …maybe. It’s for each person to hold to a standard. Then also, just to play with these things, going, We like the energetic impulse, we might want to liberate the form even more. So we’re welcoming the impulse, and then guiding it.

We’re in this time of reversal magic and experimenting magic … That’s the news that should have been…Off to the Bunny Planet!

Even the journey of today has many clues – I woke up this morning thinking, Ughh I have so much to do, too much to do! As my childhood nanny used to say, You woke up on the wrong side of the bed. And then, as I did the first thing – going to the passport office – and then the next thing, and the next thing, and the office getting painted (very exciting, new fresh things), and it all started to flow.  We remember, it is our ally, whom we will bring in tonight – Dion Fortune – her wonderful character experiencing anxiety and all the things that weren’t going well and then stepping back inside and seeing the Moon shining through the window, illuminating the humble vase of flowers that she had put on the table as a dedication for Isis (The Real Isis – The Goddess of Nature) to enter the world, she feels a down-rush of energy zzzzgggndah!  and she says, It didn’t matter that I was worried or anxious, those things were irrelevant, the humble vase of flowers as a dedicated invitation had clearly been accepted, and in the language of the adepts, I was back on my contacts.  I so love that antique, occultist phrase – Back on one’s contacts.  So there is a real sweetness on the other side of anxiety, that we will honor, but we will begin with this very sweet song from one of my favorite Santeria musical groups, “Dibulonji” By Conjuntos Cespedes.

The great article from teammate Patricia Ewing on how complaining will make you ill – The Science of Happiness – remembering our Metaphoric Agility, when people (used to) say “I’m sick and tired of this and that!” and we go, Let’s not be-spell ourselves!  It’s a fascinating article that backs up what we know – that our thinking really does change the neurological pathways in our brain.  From the micro to the macro – I did have many things to do today and my (old) self was like uhhh too much, how do I get out of this?  Maybe I’ll cancel this thing or that thing? But then, No, no it’s all perfect – And it was. Finding that sweet spot where it just glides into place, and the path does open, and the hawks appear, and you exhale and there’s this feeling of embrace in a larger thing. Very different feeling now than how the day began.  Lots of connections – I sent over the astrological list at the end of the missive – and we will customize and explain everything.

Jupiter does remind us that it is a time of all the different parts of ours lives – the journey of the last 12 years, and 24 years, 36 years…really the whole journey begins to spark, What have we ever done that was good and useful to us?  So I did go to my first Akido class – my little introductory Akido class – and he asks if I have done martial arts, and I respond, Yes, but not for about 40 years – something like that, 40 years ago I was a very dedicated martial arts person, I remember that and I go, Right and I had a very strong date with Japan and a very strong date with the Middle East – both cultures of which I have had this very strong and enduring aesthetic kinship – and I was wondering, what is that about? I remembered reading in Sansom’s History of Japan, in the very first paragraph it says, The only thing comparable to the exquisite aesthetic of the Heian period of Japan (a period I particularly love – the first novels were written by women (!) in which everything is art – he said, the only thing comparable to that is what we find in the Middle East, in these different periods… And I go, Oh! So I am tracking the same thing, in it’s different expressions.  Now I am getting ready to go to Egypt at the end of March for two weeks, and picking back up on the Japanese Aikido dynamic, and going Right, right Let me dust off all my Egypt books and dust off all my Japan books and dive back into the Aikido. 

Aikido – I have always loved, and I have always traveled with my little ancient copy of the Art of Peace, my little pocketbook of it, but to embody it, even in this little simple beginner’s lesson, was so useful and so useful to us now about how to Aikido, and it’s all watery, (like”Dibulonji” By Conjuntos Cespedes), and again you learn how to swirl, and the very good introductory teacher of my class, little turns, little turns, he said ‘somebody grabs your wrist – you turn the palm over, and then you put your hand on their elbow’ (and remembering everything real is also symbolic), he said ‘then you walk forward, and as you walk forward, you’re just taking that person down, but in the highest form with compassion, nobody gets hurt.’  And I remember in (other) early Aikido classes, you learned that when someone came at your aggressively, you would just ingeniously take their energy and take it down, and then wittily go, No don’t do that, don’t be aggressive, you’ll hurt yourself.  And he said that the highest forms of Aikido are really about compassion, no one gets hurt, ideally – although it does come out of Samurai tradition as well, which is pretty strong. But just this idea of focus and dedication.

Jupiter right now, for everybody, is kind of like a detective novel, of tracking all the different things and the different chapters of one’s life because they are All Coming Alive!  Jupiter, right now in the chart, is getting ready to rise in the East – it will be rising at about 9:30pm est – at 22° of Libra – it is opposite Uranus and Mars at 22° of Aries.  Jupiter’s degree is Chanticleer – it’s Bernie Sanders Mercury, we love that – and Mars in Uranus, it’s image is a woman carrying a precious veiled burden into the future.  And as I mentioned in the missive, we go hmm burden, maybe treasure but then I looked up burden in the etymological dictionary (a splendid practice for everybody – I highly encourage that) and it’s quite wonderful, it’s about birth –  from (Old English) byrðen “a load, weight, charge, duty… (also) a child;”  “That which is born, to bear, to carry, to give birth.” (Mars-Uranus)

Jupiter is the quickening, and the syncretizing of our journey in an energetic way.  And I did get so much from the Aikido – you’re not resisting, you’re not pushing with your arms, you’re walking forward and taking somebody’s aggressive energy and just spiraling it down. And I did bring up to the Aikido instructor Trump’s handshake, remembering, when you get pulled you go with it –  it’s all about balance and unbalance.  And it’s got such wonderful teasing out into pertinence.  Doing the physical thing – quite heartening – the idea of physicality and embodying the thing.  It’s tying a lot together.  It was very calming.  And the dedication of Aikido is our dedication, it is the Trickster dedication, which is No Matter What, We Aspire (the intention, the dedication) to Dedicated Calm in the midst of (uhhh waily waily) – so we are first responders, not first reactors.  From this calm place, this focused place, this confident place.  We want to be pulling up all of the things that have ever been useful in the different chapters in our life, and just seeing how they arise and may want to syncretize and dance with each-other.  And I can feel it – Egypt-Japan, Aikido-This&That, the Hawks-the Snake. So for everybody it’s very much available right now for these different parts of our lives to quicken into pertinence.

Which is why in this last cycle (of Pisces) it is so useful if we have journals.  I have a lot of paper. Richard (backstage audio recording ally) was surprised, You have paper files!? Yes, I have paper files that go back into the 80s, I think I may be burning those or shredding those with blessings (some of things) – and clients who are no longer living, bless them and release the paper.  For those of us who have journals (paper journals) we can engage in Journal Bibliomancy – just grab a stack of journals and open them up at random, it’s quite wonderful what happens, you go Oh! Oo, Ahah! Sifting through.

Remember, the Intelligence of Jupiter – which is quickening, quickening, quickening – is to cast the net of curiosity widely, according to our affinities, inhale it back in, edit (I like this from here, but not that – because remember, we are Tricksterizing everything – everything gets ‘extreme vetting’, for everything toxic we do the positive dynamic, ‘extreme vetting in a good way’ going I like this from here because it is liberating, but not this crusty old thing, not that…) – Extending, inhaling, editing (I like this from here, but not that, and this from over here, but not that) brewing, syncretizing (syncretizing is a sacrament, meaning ‘to stir things together’ ‘to blend things’ – it’s that welcoming of diversity into a unique and liberating brew.  It’s the essence of all the Santeria, and the Vodoun, and what anthropologists call the transactional spiritualities – kind of a stuffy but fun phrase – because it is about energetic spirited exchange – kind of the marketplace of spirituality, as a good thing, negotiating, I give you this, you give me that? How about this? No, how about that? Yes, there we go!) – So, extending, inhaling, syncretizing (putting this together in a new and interesting way), and then putting out into the world.

Mars and Uranus trining Saturn in Jupiter’s sign, Sagittarius – meaning what?  We want to translate this for all of us, for those of us who know astrology and those of us who don’t – it’s always useful to cook things back, the right balance of focus and expansion, clarity and space out, getting things in just (a Goldilocks kind of thing – this is too much, this is too little, and this is -ah- just right)

Like this morning I was overwhelmed, but then we go, no – there’s the thread, there’s the thread. What I was mentioning to those early gathering parts of our team tonight was the auguries. It’s so exciting when, you have 3 hawks overhead and then a hawk 8 feet from you – and we think, ooo I haven’t seen that in a long time.  And we don’t derive ‘status’ from that, going Oh I am an important shamanic who-za who za  No, it’s just a wondrous, heartening conversation – woooah – and how precious all the plants and the animals are (not in a sentimental way, because nature if rough and I love that if I get sentimental or gushy – I’m not really found of gushy myself – but if I get gushy with Stella coyote, going Oooh you’re so cute! She shows her little canine and goes, Ahhhh I’ll show you cute! I’m going to bite you! And then she laughs.  We don’t like gushy, but we do like electric, exhilarating.

Part of why we’re gathering, and part of why we’re in a new chapter of gathering (I can feel it, we are experimenting) – is there are really great things to experiment, experiment with.  Jupiter opposite Uranus – nothing is stuck, anything could happen, (wild stories – there we go!) and also everything we’ve ever done bubbles up to us if we open the book, if we step into the woods, if we are available… There is a lot going on.  And part of that is we love clarifying our dedication.  We are always being encouraged to write our Manifesto of Dedicated Devotion, even if it is just a sentence,  even just a sentence a day…What are we dedicated to?   Jupiter chimes in and says, What are you dedicated to? What is your definition of wealth? What is your definition of a wealth life? You write it, we’ll book it!  Because we are moving into this electrical connecting magnetizing time and when the old habits of anxiety or panic come up (NAAahhh!) we go, No, no – what if this disruption is an ally? It’s one of the neuro-linguistic programming kind of invitations, they say, Imagine swinging into the future with a sense of exhilarated enthusiasm, as opposed to panic or anxiety. It’s part of our ever-expanding repertoire of responses (May it be so). 

It’s part of the dynamic of rather than saying sorry we say thank you – instead of, Sorry I’m late to go, Thank you for waiting – it’s got a whole fun dynamic to it. Some of us can resist sudden change, going, I liked it how it was, but nothing is like it was, everything is changing in some way…and what if it sparks our ingenuity? I don’t know the word, because I was only listening to a fragment of the radio, but on a ted talk someone was talking about how many cultures have a word for the quality of ingenuity and genius that comes out of scarcity (kind of a Saturn-Uranus thing here) and in that way, he said, America is kind of in trouble because it is so wealthy, people’s genius in scarcity hasn’t been put to practice, we need a little shock sometimes (we’ll get into lightning). If we look at anything that is being disrupted in our lives we go, Yeah alright – Experiment, open it up, change it, stir it, what if it leads to more collaboration, more genius in some way? It’s useful when we feel a kind of inner resonance. That’s where we also want to move to the literalness and the metaphor of lightning.

When lightning strikes (and Uranus is very much like lightning, I like to think of it as our Creation Myth, going, Before there was humans, there was Trickster, and Trickster sets the whole shebang going with a lightning spark) – When lightning strikes it’s got to be met from a corresponding impulse, a receptive impulse, up from the Earth to receive the downward strike. All of our lightning stories – Somebody gave me this piece of sand – when sand has been struck by lightning, it forms this little rock (Fulgurite).  I remember when I first went to New Mexico, my wonderful friend and fellow astrologer, Heather Roan Robbins (http://roanrobbins.com/), we were taking a hike and looking at cave paintings and great things, and we came upon a tree had been struck by lightning, and she said, This is considered great medicine, if you find a tree that has been struck by lightning but it is still alive, that’s got a lot of force to it.  And she said once she was up at that spot, sitting under a tree, and this horsefly just wouldn’t let her alone, just nnzzzz nnhzzz buzzing around, so finally she got up and moved, and about a minute later – lightning struck that tree right where she was, and she goes, Thank you! Thank you annoying horsefly! 

If we are willing to dance (annoying fly, okay I’ll move, lightning strike, okay, thank you! that was lucky!) – if we had resisted, then we would be dead. We say, Some things are always true but there are times when they are truer. Right now, rather than get annoyed, we are all practicing (as the Aikido guy said, you want to practice things swirly moves, because (and we can chew this up together) they are not natural to us humans (Which is why the animals are so important. It’s thought that the wolves taught humans silent hunting; that before that the humans were like, Oh look Elk! Ah, they are gone now! and the wolves taught them silent hunting, the alpha wolf will look at the herd of elk, and back at the pack, and back to the herd of elk, and the pack will follow the alpha wolf’s gaze …Only two mammals do this, that we know of, wolves and humans.  It seems so obvious, right?  But following the gaze… it’s a wolf & human thing and people believe we learned it from wolves).

Dion Fortune – I am brewing syncretism, but for everybody in a corresponding way.  Back really to the ’70s, I had a strong date with Japan, strong date with martial arts, strong date with the Middle East, and very strong date with Dion Fortune (early, early, early, early – as I set forth on my little occult journey, very connected to her and her books – she’s not a barrel of laughs, but that’s why we want to Tricksterize everything – she was a very important spirit-auntie-teacher to me). But I had not seen this book, The Magical Battle of Britain by Dion Fortune, but I have it in my hands now – the war letters of Dion Fortune, edited by Gareth Knight (really interesting scholar). This is in World War II, and I hadn’t know, completely, of her letters of her involvement, but I did know that England, during WWII not only funded Bletchley Park – (the really smart, genius – Genius is available to everybody, what does Jupiter opposite Mars Uranus mean? It means, Genius is Available – breakthrough, evolution; personal level, collective level – there is a renaissance that really wants to happen. Susan Stansbury was saying before, with her cat Benjamin, what if the direness of trumpelstiltskin and the dire threat to life is, in fact, catalyzing our goodness? – and I go, that is definitely the way to play it now! That is definitely it. That would be true – where do we want genius?)…So, Dion Fortune, I am dusting off her off too – all the important teachers (different for everybody), they are eager to make their appearance in our lives – by dreams, by things we happen upon, it’s lively now. And it’s that theme of, when somebody tells us, Oh it’s hard to do that, we go, Harder not to! It’s the idea that, as we release resistance (we’re working on this together, the value of a group is that it increases the availability of this) – and the training… back to the Aikido guy for a moment, he said, If we’re attacked, our reaction is Aaah! Resist! or Strength! Grrr… but that won’t work, that’s not a useful thing. Other martial arts kind of do that, but it’s not really useful, you want to swirl. You want to restore oneself to the Choreography of Nature – nature’s choreography of spirals – it’s all about resolving conflict.

Back to Dion Fortune, England funded not only Bletchley Park, but they did fund the witches and wizards of England to gather and to do different forms of protection. So, here’s the quote (from The Magical Battle of Britain by Dion Fortune), “With enemy planes rumbling overhead, [Dion Fortune] organised a series of visualisations to formulate ‘seed ideas in the group mind of the race’…” – Now it was she who said in her books and in her characters, ‘The purpose of ritual magic is to spiral into group mind expanded wisdom and tolerance’ (I’ve changed a bit of the language but that’s the gist of it.) So, “a series of visualisations to formulate ‘seed ideas in the group mind of the race’…visions to invoke angelic protection and uphold British morale under fire.” – Now, I’m putting this in front of our Council here, going, yes, for all of us, (it does mention the word “archetypal”, I myself do not love the word archetypal but, people use it, just because I think it is kind of clunky) “to invoke angelic protection” – going How do we add Trickster to everything?  To everything – Jupiter opposite Mars Uranus says, Everything that has ever moved us is stirring, and everything that has ever moved humans to conscious kinship is bubbling and is available for fresh unique animation.  And our unique, historically pertinent, experimentation is to Tricksterize everything – to go, What would be it even more liberated? Even more spicy?  – So, “to invoke angelic protection and uphold British morale under fire” – I like angelic protection, but I’m happier thinking of animal spirits myself (giant Wolfote over the country). 

“…and uphold British morale under fire. ‘The war has to be fought and won on the physical plane,’ she wrote, ‘before physical manifestation can be given to the archetypal ideals. What was sown will grow and bear seed.’ As the war developed, this was consolidated with further work for the renewal of national and international accord.”  I want to put this kind of archaic language before us, because it is part of what we want to play with, especially now in this week… in this cycle from this New Moon to the next New Moon. 

“For the first time the Fraternity’s {and she did call it a fraternity} doors were opened to anyone {she was a real stickler, I went to her mystery school – she was already dead – but I was a tiny little occult student in London in 1971, and they were like ‘No you’re young, go away!’ So, it used to be like that} who wanted to join in and learn the previously secret methods of esoteric mind-working. With unswerving optimism she guided her fraternity through the dark days of the London Blitz, continuing her weekly letters even when the bombs came through her own roof.” So that’s from the introduction to The Magical Battle of Britain, from the letters of Dion Fortune, edited by Gareth Knight; pretty great, and I will be codging things from it too.  

And she wrote, “Let us meditate upon angelic Presences, red-robed and armed,” – Maybe, but we can all customize that, for each one of us, what your preferred template? Remembering – we invite, we magnetize, we invite power into the world, (Venus is in Aries, still visible in the Western sky until March 22nd, around then, when we won’t see her anymore in the West. Venus has been blazingly visible from about January 1st to March 22nd – still incredibly glorious in the Western sky – so fabulous.  And then she will retrograde (part of her retrograde cycle, the apparent backwards motion from the earth’s perspective) – and that will be March 4th – Venus stations in Retrograde – so she begins her retrograde cycle.  And she disappears from the evening sky around March 22nd, said to be going to the Underworld, usually she disappears for about 40 days (which is the Ianna myth) – but this time, she is only gone from March 22nd to March 30th when she re-emerges as the Morning Star.  Venus says, Can’t leave those humans unsupervised for 40 days, I’m just going away for 8! And Mars remains visible. 

All of this is – everything is coming up to be brought alive, by each one of us, in our fresh and unique way. All these parts of our Collective Intelligence that the Planets represent, Collective Intelligence that resides within us, and that we can track and see throughout Creation – they are the Large Alphabet, really, of Intelligent Creation – and as they move in their different patterns, we say some things are always true but some things rise to availability and prominence!

Pisces, the very end of the Zodiac. The Sun’s image (Sabian Symbol) today is, Aviator, master of the high realms, fly across the sky –  setting in motion projects that will benefit the next seven generations. 
And the Sun is right next to Neptune, saying, All the powerful images that have ever brought humans to conscious kinship are available now – for fresh animation. 

Pisces, the very end of the Zodiac (the end of the Zodiac, all of the myths, all of the dreams), and then – all this action in Aries, the beginning! We move towards the quickening, and the Vernal Equinox (Mars, Uranus and Venus are already there – in Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac),

There’s the end cycle and the renewal cycle. The Mabinogion legend I often repeat and I am going to repeat it again: When the elders get together, pre-tenth century, and they go ‘Ooohh we can see… Human future is going to be grim for a while… We can see that men will come to consider women and children as property, humans will set forth on their (individual, individual) journey, will lose kinship with not only each other, but with Nature herself, until the Earth might die… And then at that point, some people will keep all the value of their individual journey (this is part of the dynamic here, we all got kind of diaspora’d, scattered and blown about, and then our little individual journey of ‘this was useful, that was beautiful, this was not helpful…’ – to get us to here) people will keep all the value of their individual journey, but join back into Oneness. We remember that beautiful Deborah Felmeth reminded us that Salam and Shalom, meaning peace in Arabic and Hebrew – is not the absence of war, but the presence of Oneness.  We have this, this is very, very now in the Sky Story – we have the uniqueness of our own individual, individual, individual journey – dedicated to collective wellbeing.  And during the pretty fun banquet speak I gave at the Astrology conference (that all have access to NCGR) – I paused and said, Oh people of the banquet, let us give a toast to each other that we be those people. And they did! 365 astrological scholars, all toasted each other.  So, we keep all the value of our individual journey, but join back into dedication for collective wellbeing.

So, “Let us meditate upon angelic Presences, red-robed and armed,” or how each one of us would customize, and then together as a group we want to ask, Do you like red robes? Yeah, okay… Armed? Maybe, maybe…  “patrolling the length and breadth of our land. Visualise a map of Great Britain,” Or America.. Or the whole world really.. ” and picture these great Presences moving as a vast shadowy form along the coasts, and backwards and forwards from north to south and east to west, keeping watch and ward so that nothing alien can move unobserved.” And then Gareth Knight writes, “Dion Fortune’s magickal act worked on several sound magickal theories: She believed that trained ritualists could combine their efforts to influence the collective Will of the British people, not any one individual.” Now, this is also before our council, because on the [Trickster  Council] facebook page, and then everywhere on facebook also, kind of spirited  –  the ‘witches and scientists gathering together’ [to cast a spell on drumpelstiltskin] – I think it was Rebecca who said, Oh the return of Alchemy, how great – combination of witchcraft and science.  There was the ritual being put forth that people on Friday, the 24th at midnight east coast and 9pm west coast, do a binding ritual on Trump..write his name, put a pin in a cheeto or something… And some people took umbrage, and I have a little cautionary pause, meaning – we love the (here’s another fun occult term) tyro – the beginning initiate, not practiced, not necessarily refined – but we go, but we are directors of traffic – so we like the energetic impulse, but it might need some clarifying… I like the creative impulse, but maybe not binding, maybe setting free, not focusing on one person, or may so… It’s a worthy conversation.  We remember that our primary dedication is to be agents of liberating blessing to everything – fierce blessing, yes, May those abusing power be moved to a place they can no longer harm themselves by harming others. We’re allowed to set in motion anything of which we would be the happy recipient – so we go, Would we welcome somebody writing our name with a pin on a cheeto? (If we looked like a cheeto?) …maybe. It’s for each person to hold to a standard. Then also, just to play with these things, going, We like the energetic impulse, we might want to liberate the form even more. So we’re welcoming the impulse, and then guiding it.

(Sourdough Starters) I will be (probably) emceeing the August 21st Symbiosis Festival for the Eclipse in Eastern Oregon (http://oregoneclipse2017.com/) – and it was the last time I was emceeing with wonderful Amikaylea – we will be co-emceeing again, I think, if I can work out the final details of negotiating, negotitaing is good and we are always composting harumphitude – that’s where this was this karaoke performance that was really great, I’ve never been a fan of karaoke but this was really genius.  Right at the end, after people were singing, they were going to give the awards – and this insane women jumped on stage, and started stripping off her clothes and kind of dry-humping everybody, and I was like, Oooh, mmm – I don’t think this is part of the act – what will the emcees do? And this wonderful woman (we want to add this to our Medicine Pouch), was very calm – aikido, that’s why we practice, and no harumphitude – she just hooked her arm through the crazy person’s arm and said, And you dear, you come with me because you are fascinating. And just aikido’d her right offstage.  I ran into them backstage, and they were quite happy, relaxed, it was genius. And it’s part of our skillset, And you cuckoo person, you come with me, off stage, because you are fascinating.  

I also have a great affection for the movie, Cold Comfort Farm – just charming, charming, and kind of like a Visionary Activist Training – it’s a Venusian woman, landing in snake pit of insane relatives, and she doesn’t get kerfuffled (it’s very aikido), she just guides everyone to their destiny.  She just matches everybody up: the insane, right-wing, evangelical tyrant, she goes, And you – the larger world needs you! There you go – right over there! It’s directing everything.  And in the same way, when there is an imperfect anything, or ritual being proposed, we compost our harumphitude go, Right what does this want to be? and direct traffic going, We welcome the impulse, and here are many ways…

It’s part of our dynamic, our cultivated skillset, that rather than kind of, raraarawr – that was very racist, that was very bad – let’s take every kerfuffle as an opportunity for guiding, and liberating. This is where we want to play, and bring up for instances – how would we tease this into the actuality of our lives, in a personal or collective way? 

“Trained ritualists…” – like someone said, Trickster Training? Can you train tricksters? I’m already a full trickster. And we respond, The very act of saying that seems to belie your assertion. But it was a worthy thing to ponder for me, Yes – that’s why we are doing this, it’s like Aikido, these are things that are intrinsically wedded to Nature, but we’ve journeyed far from them, and that’s why we’re practicing when we’ve not under pressure, so that those reflexes are there – spontaneously – as things come up.  A  long time ago, when I had been doing more spiraling practice, I was being mugged by somebody, they grabbed my purse and I didn’t let it go, and we were just in this kind of circle…and then I saw this person had a very large knife, but, to let go would have been just as dangerous as to stay in the dance. And then, just out of nowhere, the knife flew out of this person’s hand, and on to the ground, and without even thinking, I put my foot right on and both of us were surprised (wow, that was cool) – we had a little moment time-out of our tussle… I don’t know what that was, it was a reflex, it was magic, it was protectors, it was ghosts – I was impressed, and so was the mugger, going, Hmm that was impressive – and then right back into the drama, which resolved in an interesting way…  We go, What is available now? What is available if we are woof*woof*wanna*play? 

And I love my friend a Sangoma [traditional healer] in South Africa, Rod Suskin [http://rodsuskin.com/], and he said that one day he was driving home with a friend, late at night, they were going pretty fast and they hit a bump – and the car went airborne.  They were headed right for this phone pole. And they thought, This could be it. But then, he said, the car just kind of gently dropped to the ground and did not hit the pole, and both of them were were stunned, wow what was that? Huh! And some weeks later, another Sangoma emerged from a council and told him, they were just in a Sangoma medicine people council, and the Ancestors spoke up and said, Boy, we really saved two of your friends last week! We love this, we want these things, co-operators standing by – and it’s also that quality of inviting, inviting.

Dion Fortune “utilized easily-recognizable culturally-based spirits and egregors whose meaning would be intuitively understood by thousands of people.”  Now team, I am just proffering this to our own creative ingenuity – we’re just beginning this part of our dedicated experimental fun – what would be ‘culturally-based spirits and egregors whose meaning would be intuitively understood by thousands of people’ that we might animate? I resist the impulse to turn to disney, although there is that movie about how Ron Suskind’s autistic son couldn’t speak, couldn’t speak, couldn’t speak, except through disney movies – so everything has got some value. [http://www.lifeanimateddoc.com/]

I’m picking up on ancient emails coming in – Laura is wondering about the origins of the word advocate – well with the fantastic Etymology Online [http://www.etymonline.com/] I will look it up – Advocate… so it must be towards calling – but we will see in a second [Advocate on OED].  Advocate: to plead in favor…advocatus [latin]…advocare…one whose profession is to plead a case in a court of justice, techinical term… [Old French] avocat “barrister, advocate, spokesman,”… from Latin advocatus “one called to aid (another); a pleader (on one’s behalf)”…So it’s ‘to call toward’ ad – advocare “to call (as witness or adviser) – invite.  So that’s good. And then there’s devil’s advocate from “Latin advocatus diaboli, in the Catholic Church, a promoter of the faith and officer of the Sacred Congregation of Rites whose job it is to urge against the canonization of a candidate for sainthood.” (OED) Hmmm, curious… so pleading for, let’s say it’s pleading for.

Egregor – a thoughtform – maybe a Wolfote Guardian of Democracy – a super Wolfote.  We might all ponder on what thoughtforms we may find useful.  [Rebecca:] The first thing I think of is roses – someone once taught me, as a form of spiritual protection, to put the rose in front of your heart. So there’s scent and blossoming and feminity.  And that is the Rosicrucians, and the order of the rosy heart.  [https://www.rosicrucian.org/history] For all of us, this a good priming of the pump – these images, and then to animate them in our micro lives way: if one is feeling daunted, one might imagine a rose in front of one’s heart; if one would like to be invisible, we (we did this a lot in this very crazy mystery school in London) can imagine a blue cloak of invisibility, just like Harry Potter, but in which you really can energetically disappear; walking over slippery rocks, we imagine gecko feet… it’s not an egregor, but it’s this idea of collaborative shapeshifting, forming a partnership.  And that why the more we know (the more words we know, the more plants we know, the more animals we know) the more intimate (it extends our range of intimate cahooting).

Jupiter is the part of us that loves always learning. And we know that is a key, perhaps the key, to longevity. Apparently, if the brain is learning… longevity people, studying people who live a really long time, like Mariana Martinez, but also a particular sect of nuns who lived in a kickbutt way into their hundreds – they were always learning. At the age of 98, they are going, Let’s learn Arabic!  The always learning part of us is very available right now. So even if we have a little inkling, a step to experiment or learn, it’s Quite Alive!

Move ten things, change your life, say the Feng Shui people, it’s a kind of releasing and stirring, ourging and leeting go of stuff, and cleaning out the back of closets, and moving things around, and find all kinds of stuff that we have. And, I found the Fulgurite – Fulgur (from the Latin) which means Lightning – “…composition is dependent on the physical and chemical properties of target material affected by the discharge of cloud-ground lightning…Colloquially, they have been referred to as petrified lightning” (wiki) Yes, that is what it looks like!  That lightning dynamic, that is useful.

“She drew upon spirits and egregors already associated with the purpose for which they’d been called.” Well, I am just inviting our council to ponder these things, consider, (ponder is to build a bridge, consider is with the stars) going, right, “spirits and egregors already associated with the purpose for which they’d been called”… Protectors of Democracy… It’s part of our panoply, our pantheon, our palette, our living animated metaphoric palette of Coyote and Raven…and also see who shows up! I am very found of Crows and Coyotes and Wolves, but all of a sudden, Hawks are showing up. Absolutely, what a surprise! So it’s not always what we are familiar with, in fact right now things are surprising – Hawks and Snakes, that’s thrilling!

Here we have our jolly group, some of whom have been here since the beginning of time (since we’ve been rolling this thing, 10 years anyway), some people joined today! And it’s really great – welcome, welcome, new people and old-timers; here is our field of play.  So, “…simple acts of magick that could be easily imitated, and contributed to, by a wide range of individuals in disparate geographical locations…doing a Working in a cause that thousands of people were passionate about.” Protection and Group Mind.  So many stories now and so much poignancy, the beautiful 32 year old Indian man who was killed in a bar in Kansas, and his wife was so fearful when trump was elected, saying, Are we going to be safe? Yes, my darling, her husband said, we will be safe. And then he was killed, by a random, hate-filled, possessed (I don’t want to say lunatic, because we like Luna) person, as an agent of collective vituperativeness. And so, many relatives in India no longer want to go to America, America is a scary place. How are we called upon to draw upon the Positive Spirit, which we can see everywhere – The Indivisible, there’s self organizing dynamics of participation and protection… And the beautiful, beautiful thing, in Victoria, Texas when the Mosque was burned down (and another Mosque was burned down in Texas the other day), the Rabbi, head of the synagogue, went over and handed the keys to the Imam, and goes, Here, please. And when the Saint Lewis Jewish Cemetery was vandalized, Muslim groups were ecstatic to raise money for them. And we go, Yeah! A beautiful thing rising! And then in Philadelphia, another Jewish cemetery was vandalized. Again, very much what Susan Stansbury brought up at the beginning, going, Yes, and we are with this, and this protection.

Could we think of animating the Statue of Liberty?  It’s part of my schedule, I have it booked for Radio on March 23rd, a pretty great book on the Statue of Liberty, Lady Liberty. There’s a strong thing, and she’d like to come alive. There’s a lot of dedicated symbolism in Washington, DC awaiting animation and stirring.  And the Statue of Liberty in her interesting journey, the French sculptor spent a great deal of time in Egypt, so at first one of his models was from statues he’d saw there (Egyptian women holding a lantern), so he modeled the first statue of liberty on a Muslim peasant Egyptian woman! But then he came to America and he found all kinds of Native American imagery of women holding, illuminating lamps. So that’s also syncretized, so we that Egypt-Native American syncretizing in the Statue of Liberty – and I don’t know if that counts as an egregor, but if it’s not true, let’s make it true!

[Rebecca:] I was just writing Lady Liberty (as an egregor), when you brought it up. When I think of Lady Liberty, I always like to think of (on the West Coast is) Portlandia – the statue… she is this marvelous, the second largest bronze statue, she was floated down the river, and with a giant trident in one hand and sort of squatting down, with her other hand she is reaching down as if to grab somebody’s hand, or pull them up. So something makes me think, oooh that balance between Lady Liberty and Portlandia might be – these two giant women reaching across the continent. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portlandia_%28statue%29]

That’s great, Big Momma! What it says to all of us is, there are these statues, these symbolisms, of whatever natural woods we walk through, or whichever city or town we are near, there is something that is going to speak to each of us, somewhere. And they are awaiting animation.

 

 

 

Venus magnetizes (come on in, come on in) Mars animates it – and opposite Jupiter, says, You humans are so wealthy, all of these things are all around you, to play with. And they are hopping up and down, whatever shows up in dreams, and elsewhere, now is very a lively field – and when we tap into that, it feels good; and when we don’t, it feels horrible.  Situation so dire we can’t afford the luxury of realism (I often quip to myself).  Co-operators are standing by, awaiting animation – and that’s the positive Mars (and part of the Mars-Uranus dynamic). 

So as ally, Dion Fortune was dedicated to planting seeds, I wrote, Let’s tricksterize – toss quickening lightning at the seeds (as lightning encourages mushrooms to grow). I know I had heard that, from Paul Stamets, great mycologist [http://www.fungi.com/about-paul-stamets.html] and then I googled it, and there’s just all these great articles about how that is true.  Lightning  -or quickening – or the quickening animating energy in many forms.  It’s also related to a Nigerian cab driver I had once, talking about how terrible the world is, and then I go, I am going off to conference, with Paul Stamets and other mycologists, and there are ingenious solutions – we are wealthy!

Jupiter opposite Mars & Uranus – We are wealthy with ingenious solutions, to every horribleness around us. And because I opened the conversation that way, he said, I have never told a white person this before, but we these songs in Nigeria, that we sing, and when we sing them the mushrooms come up. And I go, Oooh that’s great too! Lightning, singing…singing to a tree, singing to a statute…experiment, experiment, experiment.  And remember, Uranus Trickster, our guide, has no category but success/fail – it’s Nature’s evolutionary experimental genius – it’s like, try that (and not try that and then throw oneself into a tragic romantic melancholy ‘ooo it didn’t work..’) No, try that – with calm dispassion and curiosity, and go, ‘no’ – try that ‘no’ – not ‘oh waily waily’ {thank you Terry Prachett} – because there will be a, try it, no; try it, no; try it – yeah, there it is! It’s also often like, no I’m not tapped in… no I’m overwhelmed with panic and depression and dread… no, not there, not there… Oh! There! (The right quote, the right poem, the right tree…) 

Remember Gioia Timpanelli, used to say that one of the motifs of fairytales is ‘careful living in a particular place’ – this tree, this badger… And then there’s the journey as well, and the cross-pollinating agent of journeying and returning. We’re all somewhere.

And part of the Grand Square of Now – Jupiter opposite Mars and Uranus, and then both of those are squaring Pluto (rar rar rar rar) – and then both of those are squaring Vesta, little asteroid Vesta – one of our teammates, Sylvia, is very greatly dedicated to Hestia, or Vesta, the keeper of the sacred arts. It was years ago that Sylvia said, ‘Wherever Vesta is, is where one is di-vested of orthodoxy, while it is deepened in it’s dedication.’ So Vesta is part of this Grand Square – meaning wherever in our lives, we go, Oh waily, waily, this didn’t happen…whatever the customized lament is…Vesta goes, No, no, just denied, delayed, and deepened – right on schedule.  It’s a preferable way to go.  And that’s why I suggest we customize the Protective Angels (Divine as Giant Wolfote, Bow-wowing down in front of us, going, Woof*Woof*Wanna*Play!? And we go, Yeah! We do! And we’d like some protection, and we’d like to spiral out into group collective mind expanded altruism and wellbeing (which is happening).  And we do have an abundance of lightning available for experimenting.

Whatever has given us solace, guidance, comfort… and there’s so much to do, that’s why there is more than one of us – each person here has an affinity, whatever it is it’s alive, the genius, or the deity.  It’s the idea that everything has a god or a presiding intelligence, every discipline.  And that’s how I think about learning Astrology, after one puts in enough time it’s as though the presiding deity of that field, says, Well, she farted around for a while, but then she put in enough time, so now we’ll train her. And then the path opens. So whatever one is dedicated to, writing or permaculture, or Russian fairytales – it’s alive!

Let’s take every kerfuffle as an invitation to step in to be anti-dote, or guide it into a more interesting way.

Jupiter is retrograde – meaning it’s apparent motion is backwards from the earth’s perspective.  Everything is a guide, so Jupiter is saying, re-search, re-member, re-…Go backwards in order to go forwards, go backwards because there is something in our rich past that we are magnetized to, that wants to come alive, that wants to be an accomplice.  (I like the word accomplice. I like the word escapade, the art of escaping – part 1 of our sacraments. And I like the word accomplice, when people say spouse, or partner, I’d like an accomplice.  And let us be unto each other, accomplices. As Richard Farina says, Take the Zircon to Foppa and tell them we move tonight!) This positive intrigue –  for everything up to no good, we animate the desirable, because that is what people actually, really want.  People go for the toxic mimic. And as we’ll conjuring fierce and playful blessings, May humans only be attracted to that which is good for them. That would handle quite a lot! All of these experimental blessings, or these things coming up from the past that we customize and tinker and further liberate.  Because everything gets ossified, by the time I arrived in occult London, Dion Fortune’s mystery school was quite ossified and grumpy in a lot of ways, going, No new people, no! Because it tends to (Jung said, I’m glad I’m Jung and not a Jungian) to get orthodox – it tends to get straight – and we are here with liberating lightning, to liberate the orthodox, the straight teaching, into curvy, into embracing, into guiding, you come this way because you are fascinating, or good impulse, let’s refine it over this way.  That is central to our dedication.

Jupiter is retrograde in Libra (the Art – the realm of Venus) – the art form of storycrafting – opposite to Uranus, Trickster, in Aries.  It will be exact on March 2nd. And it is “the second opposition in this sequence”, as Misty writes, “The first opposition occurred on December 26, 2016 when Jupiter was direct [forward motion] and Uranus was retrograde.” Uranus was stationing, and then went direct right after that. “The third opposition will occur on September 28, 2017 when Jupiter is direct and Uranus is retrograde.” So, we are re-searching, things that we want to bring alive.

Venus in Aries turns stationary, retrograde on March 4th, until April 15th. So Venus, we can animate this a number of ways, but a retrograde (I like thinking of a retrograde as, what that planet represents is going on a vision quest to re-store it’s authenticity (the real purpose of story, and the real purpose of theatre)…And as Venus stations and then retrogrades on March 4th, it’s like she snaps her fingers and goes, Wait, wait – I forgot something, let me go back into Pisces… (the sign of her exaltation) – She’s going to go all the way back into late Pisces, into 26+ Pisces, station there, so go all the way back into the collective realm, and we with her (some part of us) to station at the beautiful degree [Sabian Symbol] “A Harvest Moon Rising in the Evening Sky, a Vision of Peace”.  She’s going back to get the Vision of Peace, from every culture, from every animal, from every thing, from every Salam, Shalom, she’s going back to re-treive that. “A Harvest Moon, a Vision of Peace, Fruition, Emotional Realization of What Has Been and What Can Be Accomplished, Ripeness, Celebration.” So she goes backwards to going, Wait a minute, I know I forgot something…Right! The Vision of Peace, let me go back and get that and then come back into the Aries (backwards into collection realm of Pisces and then back into Aries).

Jupiter retrograde in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn on March 30, 2017.  And I do want to express these principles so everybody can play with them, even if you’re not familiar with the language. The Story of Pluto – the story of what gets us through, in our harrowing adventures, and when we were alone.  And remember Robert Bly reading Kabir, saying, One day you decided to go into the woods completely alone and that’s why everything you do has some weird failure to it…It’s kind of fun.  And it’s all part of the mix, when I quote Robert’s version of Rumi, saying, A man who is depressed is a thief and steals from god everyday – It’s just one perception, put it in your pipe and smoke it, put it in your brew, add it to other things…Nothing is Absolute or Only.  Jupiter reminds us that there is always 20, 30, 40 stories going on at once and they can all be conflicting, and they can all be true. Which one are we going to vote to animate? Which one are we going to feed, and partner with, and dance with and enliven out of all these possibilities?

The Jupiter-Pluto dynamic is, when we have gone through in the darkness, and everything we do has had some weird failure associated with it, what got us through? What was useful?  I love Martin Prechtel saying, Imagine the Divine as a puppy, licking your face going, ‘Jump up and Live!’ And that’s brewing now, in the midst of Piscean melancholy, it’s like, Jump up and Live! Jump back into the thing, take one step, move 10 things in your house – as an experiment, and go, That did feel really good.  It’s kind of like, Snap out of the trance, to join the trance of choice! Uranus-Trickster says, We are Big Gods, we don’t really care what you humans do, we care the manner in which you do it – that it be from freedom and choice.  My current favorite ‘sleight of hand’ is, Hiding is Prison (it’s a con in that way), Solitude is Liberating (a liberating trick) – They can look the same. It’s for each one of us to wonder, Am I hiding? (which would be a con) or, Am I involved in Liberating Solitude? Sometimes we can’t tell, but in any case, our dedication (Uranus trine Saturn) our dedication to being agents of liberated blessing. That’s what is really available right now.  By dedication, may we all be attracted to that which is good for us. We wish it for ourselves.

I, of course, think of the Jupiter-Pluto square from Jim Lewis (astro*catro*graphy) – It’s the Phoenix’s song.  Jupiter (The Story) of Pluto (Death and Rebirth), and the Phoenix, what get’s us through. We’re all survivors, we’re all breathing on this call; we’ve all made it through harrowing things. It’s the song I heard at the Envision Festival – We have all been close to death, We have all had little, Then we found Rhythm, and Now we have Much!  So, as Jim Lewis said, Jupiter-Pluto great for publicity – and I had to Jupiter that (because it sounded cheesy, publicity? who wants that?)…What it really is, the capacity for us to spiral forth Work that is heartening, not the con of celebrity. Incredible for publicity…why?..because of the Phoenix. The Phoenix, before it bursts into flame and is reborn, sings this hauntingly beautiful song, and all of Creation listens to the Phoenix’s song and is reminded of what is really important….Beauty, and Kindness, and Altruism, and Reciprocal Blessing, and Mutual Aide – serendipitous synchronicity, all of those things…And then the Phoenix bursts into flames. So that’s why I could say, Okay Phoenix got a lot of publicity, all of Creation to listened to it’s song.

So this Jupiter-Pluto… ‘The first square occurred November 24, 2016’ – but we’re in that cycle – ‘the last time the square will occur is August 4th’ (Lammas, pretty close).  So we’re in that cycle of the Phoenix’s song, so it says to each one of us, If (separately or together) we have the capacity to direct collective attention [it’s kind of like considering the egregor, what do we want to animate?] .. if we (each one of us and also the experiment of us as group) had the capacity to direct Collective Attention (in secret ways, or not, either way) – what would that be?  

To each person going, What is your Phoenix’s song? In what form would you sing it?  If one had the capacity, to spiral into Group Mind that which one deems is really important, what would that be? There is no snappy answer to that, it wants to be a wondering.  And a worthy wondering.  And also to wonder as co-members of our Trickster Training Council, what might we do?  What are the opportunities of all these different people, from all over the place, with different skills and languages and affinities…. There’s Evangeline weaving in Minnesota, Rebecca dreaming in Portland, Meredith visiting the Whales, and Susan and Benjamin – and what might we do together? We’re just beginning this chapter, this part to go hm hm hm….

A very positive Mars (Uranus to Mars is the liberating of Mars) – Mars (which resides in all of us) is the Yang kind of Grrrr – it’s the hero, from protestor to protector.  And very much, because we journey back to this beautiful thing here: Mars and Uranus – the hero within us all (regardless of our gender), the positive Yang within us all, who is liberating and dedicated to protecting as much life as possible.
