Waxing Buddha’s Full Moon is about inviting in the Desirable.
We love the Egyptian iconography that guides us – that which is in front of us, is an adversary and that which is beside us, is an ally and that which is behind us, is a protector.
So we want to swoosh Sufi-Alchemy-Aikido. Swoosh what is in front of us whether it’s an actual being or or a thing or an issue or a fear – guiding it over here, guiding it over here… And as an ally, or behind us, or keeping it going… And that’s part of our dedication, inviting creates a force field around each one of us – like sitting with our backs against a tree.
The Buddha’s Full Moon will be Wednesday, May 10th at 5:42pm east coast time.

The Buddha’s Full Moon is mythologically when the Buddha was born and the day also of the Buddha’s enlightenment (when he gains enlightenment – whatever that might be) with his back pressed against the bodhi tree. So it is a wonderful thing to sit with our backs against a tree, or any force field. Remembering in Aikido they say, “Do not stare at your enemies eyes he will mesmerize you, do not stare at enemies weapon will terrify you, create your own magnetic field and then you can sit anywhere you like.”
And that’s what we want to do, that’s what’s proffered – Full Moons just bring up more of everything, more of everything – but we get to pick and choose.
It is a back-stage / on-stage commerce: the Moon will be in Scorpio on the Full Moon – the invisible backstage – opposite (creating a pipeline, in a sense) to the Sun in Taurus – which is incarnational manifestation. So this commerce between the worlds is very strong.
It is one of the four Cross Quarter Holidays, as we remember. Celebrated for almost as long as Equinoxes and Solstices – Exact Mid Season – where the particular potency and intelligence of the season is invited in.
{We do have some of our team in the Southern Hemisphere – we always want to do the kind of mirror. For us in the North, we have Halloween and Candlemas and Beltane (all around now and the Full Moon) and Lammas. So it’s the Halloween of Spring (still – it’s all around mid season-ish, and this Full Moon really activates it). And for those in the Southern Hemisphere, let’s think of it as the fecund aspect of dark mystery. But it is incarnational invitational cahooting time!}

What nourishes us?
Wafting of Blessings: Blessing of neighbors – even if we don’t know them.

Altars – Altars are really any playfully intentional arrangement of “things” that we animate with a guiding invocative story.

from back-stage desirable to on-stage manifest!”We all want to align with the Sky-Earth story which is really a larger field into which we can relax… (all of our concerns, and petty befoiblements, and large democratic crises…) And this commerce between worlds… mending our broken treaties and our Ally-Etiquette.
Mending our treaties – each small act of kindness amplified through blessings and altars.
Keeping Boundaries intact – autonomy and respect. Forging treaties and alliance to work for reciprocal blessing and mutual benefit together.
This Waxing Full Moon is really about healing and mending broken treaties through small acts of kindness, dedicated into a larger atmosphere.
Part of the Beauty of Now in this Chart
(because the Full Moon animates everything):· There’s Jupiter continuing to rise: in the early evening sky, Jupiter in Libra – all about storycraft. And we remember that craft means power that comes from dedication. It’s why, as we all wonder what we’re dedicated to and what we’d like more of – just to put the word craft behind that going story-craft, kindness-craft, cooking-craft, weaving-craft… Craft – it’s such a wonderful word.
· Jupiter is in Libra, one of Venus’ signs; the Full Moon Taurus-Scorpio – Taurus is the other Venus sign – this commerce between society and art and artifice and nature, perfect now for even the little micro-circumstances, it’s all a tarot card, it’s all a divination speaking to us…
· There’s Jupiter (story-craft) Rising – with a fabulous quintile (irresistible eloquence, harmonious cahooting-ness) to Saturn in Sagittarius – Jupiter’s sign.
· And Saturn is retrograde (we are remembering and retrieving) and Saturn has changed degrees, since we last convened, it was an ancient bridge… now it’s a sculptor in their studio breathing life into something. And it’s got an irresistibly eloquent connection to Jupiter in Libra (story-craft, dedicated story-craft) and our capacity personally and collectively (because this is kind of like a collective guiding story chart) is …that I have increasingly thought of quintiles (72° angles) as the capacity to be like a tuning fork, and to hold blessings and true perceptions so that they hum in others… so nobody has to believe us, they don’t have to convince anybody, they get to go “oh, I see that now….”
· It’s a good time to Cool Things Out – all of the rituals which we redeem from superstition by animating them as witty theatre. It’s a useful time at Crossroads, in honor of Mercury and Uranus’ conjunction on Wednesday, to go to a crossroads (or if you are not near a crossroads, just draw a cross in the dirt in front of your house) and pour a little bit of water there, and imagine (as a quintile blessing) cooling out everything out there…
· Small acts of dedicated kindness have amplified effect – some things are always true, but there are times when they are truer! Saturn – focus, constriction, dedication – in Harmonious Creative cahoots with Jupiter – vastness, bigness, blessing, travel, journeying, reciprocal blessing.
· And then Jupiter has a 150° angle down to Neptune – we spiral it into Neptune in Pisces, into group mind.
Our Dedication: To be Artists of Atmosphere – to create the desirable atmosphere conducive to the good. To be Public Dreamers – in a nighttime dreaming sense, and in the sense of an active imagination spiraling blessings out into the world.
It is especially available, right now, to spiral and waft into Group Mind expanded tolerance and wisdom of the desirable…
Remembering our Magic Mirror – to hold our mirror up and go ‘Oh no look how terrible!’ and then with a wave of the hand, “but look how beautiful it could be” (we want to follow the mirror with the invitation), and then with another wave of the hand, turn the window into a door, “let’s go there!”
If there’s any navigation yearning desire for some tangible wondrous great big woofy improvement in our personal lives – Now would be the time to communicate that desire to the spirit – however we choose to address the Divine (I like “Oh Spirit of Originating Woof that Animates the Universe), however one wants to address Big Mystery.
We want to also speak to ourselves like we would speak to a beautiful, wounded animal – going, “easy, easy, there we go…” (A blessing of things – as they are!)
Remembering a ritual is not a superstitious obeisance to some arcane practice that may have lost its originating liberating guiding, but any physical actions we perform that we imbue with dedicated symbolism.
Powerful Dedicated Magic Beauty trumps Desire and Fear
When we say that we want to bring something into manifestation in our lives – we remember great 19th c scholarly magician Eliphas Levy “to know, to dare, to will and to be silent” – It’s a magical dictum, to be applied specifically (we do share things, our hopes, our wishes) – for this thing, that each person has invited, some improved molecular circumstance that we really want, we don’t talk it out or tell it to our partner or best friends (maybe the animals… no rules, but guidelines!), we don’t want to talk things out… We love right now in the Sky (5.8.17): Mars trines Jupiter (increasing over the next few days, in abundance – and Mars in Gemini is the troubadour bard, what stringed instrument, what beauty do we want to bring into the world…) asks us, “What is the secret desire? Don’t say it yet!” Where one would like to deepen one’s craft and extend one’s influence, or have something brought into play… “to know, to dare, to will and to be silent” We don’t talk it out – because sometimes Gemini planets can think “Well! Now that I’ve said that, I’ve gotten that thing done!” – but no, incubate it… dark mystery incubate… planting the seed…
Part of this Full Moon is that it is great time to write our manifesto of dedicated devotion.
What are we dedicated to? What do we want to feel like, and what do we want to feel like to others? What do we want our influence in the world to be felt as – not to worry so much about how, that will come later…We’re getting the house singing, arranging the altars… playful dedication!
Always moving our emotional default setting to Woof*Woof*Wanna*Play?! And then we can see where we got rigid – and where we, just in an offhand way, can think, oh what a dingbat… but we don’t want to be boring! This is also about having the spicy delicious insightful thing, but followed with a chaser of blessing – “…And may they be improved!”
Change is available – Sun in Taurus, incarnational vessel, trine Pluto.
Approval & Disapproval – all of those things want to go into the cauldron – because it’s all a big snookering when people say, “Do you approve of this or disapprove of this?” the Backstage Gods say, “We don’t really care if you approve or disapprove – what a distraction!” Magic is a willingness to cooperate with everything. “Are you willing to Woof*Woof and Collaborate with the thing?”

Mars coming to trine Jupiter (exact Friday at 6:19am) – pretty great, high degree of telepathic cahooting, call and response, all around us this week. Mars trine Jupiter says ‘Troubadour Bard’ and many kinds of storytelling, and storytelling-craft, and kindness-craft…
Jupiter, always as an initiator, says, “I am going to make everything bigger!” So – what stories has one gotten all the good out of, that one is going to re-linquish, re-lease… before this powerful animating Full Moon time?
Our sad narratives… we all (most of us) have our sad narratives that we do tend to repeat, and in working with people I go at least put it in the past – ‘it has been that humans have not been receptive to this or that’ …at least put it in the past as opposed to declaring it.
We always engage the large effect of small things – like the wonderful word “Yet” – “Oh, my dreams have not come true… yet!”
And then the really powerful combination that we love as part of our liturgy, when we’re ready for it, “…Until now!” So that we be agents of blessing everything with compassionate accepting encouragement.
Mars-Gemini just says, “Words are always important – especially now!” Look up words in a good etymological dictionary. So useful – so that we know what we’re saying and we have the power of knowledge behind us, so that our words, story, metaphor are in accord with our dedication …and that’s the essence of ritual magic.
And some things we may want to Trickster-accept about ourselves… as a Libran I just delight in dilly-dallying and lollygagging – if I try and deny that and be a perfect zen person, the lollygagging and dilly-dallying wreak their revenge and then actually go overboard and then create a balancing form of panic and dread…. Until now! Until now – I’m willing to throw that into the cauldron, going “Right, accept a certain amount of dilly-dallying and lollygagging…”
