Pre-Council Themes

Yo Team, our graduation night….
so imaginatively let’s gather all with which we have an affinity, to weave into our Trickster Vernal Cloak….
as Holy Week unfurls….
to fiercely gaze at the horror, and call in kind kinship…with all beings….

Moon in Libra Rising….(cultural Venusian realm)
cahooting with Jupiter Uranus….in Taurus (animistic Venusian realm)

Once again bestowing upon us all the opportunity -responsibility to redesign the human cultural interface with Nature –
to have collaborative manners…

With a tip of the hat to Mars in Pisces quintile Jupiter, and all the Pisces Taurus conversings… dedicated images, eager to incarnate into sensual actuality….

and have some previews of next opportune Council Cahoot…
Beltane to Solstice…. Democracy Magic…..
Democracy, and the magic of democratic animism, that will save it….

Ostara

The illustration with this post is traditional embroidery of a Mokosh pattern, recurring independently in women’s arts from Poland and the Urkaine through Russia to Siberia.

She is always spraddle-legged forming a pyramid with her legs, having given birth to the World Tree. Her outstretched arms are nearly always upraised. She is typically surrounded by birds, reindeer, plants, and heavenly symbols.

Most of these elements can be found in ancient Phoenician and even prehistoric images of Tanit (spraddle-legged triangle, arms outreaching and upraised, sun symbol over her head, accompanied by birds), too close to be coincidental and truly hinting at unbroken traditions from prehistory to the present.

Happy Birthday Lawrence!

March. 24, 1919
Birth of .poet/painter/beat/publisher and founder of San Francisco’s influential City Lights bookstore. Lawrence Ferlinghetti in Yonkers,New York. Among other accomplishments, Ferlinghetti was the first to publish Allen Ginsberg’s poem “Howl,” an act immediately resulting in his arrest (and eventual acquittal) on obscenity charges.

March. 25, 1955
U.S. Customs confiscate 520 copies of Allen Ginsberg’s “Howl” as they
enter the U.S. It will then be published by City Lights publishers in
San Francisco, leading to the arrest of publisher (and prominent poet)
Lawrence Ferlinghetti. Customs also seized and destroyed another
shipment of Ginsberg’s poetry sent from Canada in the 60s.
