Post-Council Themes
Yo indefatigable team , at this bewildering time…
fittingly, last night was bewildering….
focus —then woooo—Saturn and Uranus- discipline and wildness, dedication is freedom….
preside over the Aquarian realms of how shall we gather…
As in Aikido (Do see “Art of Peace”) – no rules but guidelines…
Don’t block – guide….
So one of our encouraging guidelines is critique as incentive to Liberating Blessing….
Let’s dedicate to this worthy practice
Thankyou, all….
Just by showing up-we are evidence that we have metabolized ancestral futility….
Yea! Onward….
and poems are maps for navigating inner and outer wilderness…
or
“poems are maps for getting lost in wilderness….”
Fred Lamotte
“Today, like every other day,
we wake up empty and frightened.
Don’t open the door to the study and begin reading.
(or check phone)
Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.”
From Rumi: The Book of Love: Poems of Ecstasy and Longing, by Jalal al-Din Rumi, translated by Coleman Barks.
So let’s gather favorite poems….that have kept us in good stead….
And as we are all in this Dream/Faery Tale together- we turn to this realm as well…
and Sean chimes in:
“And let us invite in our company Mad Sweeney, Suibhne Geilt, the Irish king who was exiled to the forest when he rejected the missionaries’ demands that he live by their rules. He was lost, he was angry, he was frightened. Then he grew feathers and learned to leap from tree to tree. And he learned to love the music of the Wolf and the belling of the Stag more than any song. In our own bewilderment, what beauty can we find that we would never have known had we stayed in the old familiar places? What feathers, what wings might we grow?

“All these rituals are part of an investment in darkness, a ceremony that turns the exoerience of death into an ancestor through whom blessings can flow.”

We just went to a talk at a local church that hosts a social justice series. The woman who spoke shared her story of reconciling being the 7th generation of the largest slave trader in U.S. history. I deeply appreciated her story. I haven’t watched the film yet, but her cousin documented their journey. It’s called Traces of the Trade (YouTube)
