The Beauty of “the Call supporting the Haitian Community” of Springfield…..

Danger quickens competent community compassion….

Last night was just so inspiring!

The lies and hate targeting the small town of Springfield, Ohio, are backfiring.

More than 4,500 people of you signed up to join Red Wine & Blue and our partners – Faith in Public Life, Innovation Ohio, NAACP Ohio, Ohio Immigrant Alliance, and Ohio Organizing Collaborative — from all corners of the state. We all share the same values: We don’t see strangers, we see neighbors. And we love our neighbors.

When we decided to use last night’s forum to fundraise for the Haitian Community Help and Support Center and Springfield City School District, both of whom were the subject of dozens of threats after the racist attacks on their populations, we set a modest goal of $20,000.

Caroline, we have raised more than $100,000, from every state in the union. This is money that can do so much good in this community!

So here’s what’s next. First, if you missed the event last night, no worries – you can watch it here!

And we are going to continue raising money for the next 48 hours to try to hit our final goal of $120,000. If you didn’t get a chance to give, you can do so here.
