Waxing Buddha’s Full Moon – Wesak Festival

In the Mythic News: Tonight is the Buddha’s Full Moon, honoring both the day of his birth and the day of his enlightenment, with his spine pressed against the Bodhi Tree.
The Buddha said of death:
Life is a journey.
Death is a return to earth.
The universe is like an inn.
The passing years are like dust.
Regard this phantom world
As a star at dawn, a bubble in a stream,
A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp – a phantom – and a dream.
But this Full Moon in Scorpio opposite the Sun in Taurus (exact at 7:09 am edt Tuesday morning) whose animating sizzle we distribute throughout this week, is the time when the above Scorpionic reflection on death dances with the Yea! life! of Taurus. This is the Realm of the to and fro commerce between worlds , the invisible to the visible, the back-stage to on-stage, in perpetually reciprocal cahoots. A time when the Taurean incarnational Venus is at her most alluring: inviting, magnetizing the Scorpionic Mars down-load sizzle to inaugurate the culture of Collaborative Reverent Ingenuity.
This week, also known as the Wesak Festival, is the time when the “infinite game” proffers an invitation, with a key made from a lightning bolt, to open the closed circle, “finite game” of “society.” We are brought into Energetic Intimacy with all with which we are resonant and calibrated. Aspiration leads to inspiration.
Once we are “on our contacts,”
“We absorb, circulate and then distribute energy.” (Alice Baley)
“on our contacts…” I am re-reading all my formative guiding occult-esoteric texts, including “Moon Magic,” by Dion Fortune. The heroine, Priestess of Isis in Modern World (London 1938), Vivian Le Fay Morgan, describes being in a state of inward and outward desolation…when she steps outside to see the Full Moon over water, then returns to her home-temple to see the Full Moon illuminating the water in a vase of flowers, increasing to a cascade of Light. And she knows that Isis, embodiment of Nature Wisdom, has accepted her invitation. “Isis was indwelling the temple I had prepared for her, and in the language of the adepts, I was on my contacts.” Again. At last! It was her inadvertent reverie on water and the Moon which opened the gates. “And lo, I was onto my contacts, and power was pouring in, for these things always come through living channels and never by themselves.” Always place trust in Nature, and heal the un-polarised desolation that can come from too much solitude, for “No Magician can work alone.”
As a young occult student in London, me and my team would often use the following invocation from Alice Bailey, and while Trickster might find some of the words and style a tad antique, nonetheless it is adorable (to re-connect with its dynamic innocence) and energetically well-worn, having been recited at this Moon for near a century, especially at this time, considered by her and her students to be the most energetically potent of times for cahooting with Big Forces. Its intention is to connect us with all who are dedicated to the well-being of all: “Eliminate from our consciousness all negativity, clearly aligning ourselves with the Forces of Light.”
THE GREAT INVOCATION
From the point of light within the Mind of God
Let Light stream forth into our minds
Let LIGHT descend on Earth.
From the point of love within the Heart of God
Let Love stream forth into our hearts
May LOVE increase on Earth.
From the center where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide our wills
The PURPOSE which the masters know and serve.
From the center which we call Humanity
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door
where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
Let LIGHT and LOVE and POWER
restore the Planet Earth!
(More from Alice:)“The day of the Wesak full moon is known as the Day of Safeguarding. We simply regard ourselves as recipients of, or custodians of, as much of that spiritual force as we can possibly hold. We attempt to hold ourselves steadily in the light. We will not formulate what will happen, nor will we look for results or tangible effects. We will maintain an inner peace. Two thoughts only will hold our constant attention: the need of humanity, and the necessity of providing a group channel whereby the spiritual forces can be poured through body of humanity”
The two days following the Wesak full moon are called the Days of Distribution. On these two succeeding days, the focus of our attention will be steadily turned away from ourselves and from the inner subjective planes to the outer world. Our efforts will be to pass on, or to pass through, that measure of spiritual energy that may have been contacted.
Know as a group we recognize and work with the purpose, the individual initate works with the plan {the plan has purpose, and we as individuals play our parts}.
The group is responsive to the “Bright Center Shamballa” where initates alone, in their own essential identity, cannot so respond. The individual must be protected by the group from the terrific potencies emanating from Shamballa. These energies are stepped down for the individual initate by the process of distribution. This stepped down process of distribution is one of the major functions of group work.
We absorb, circulate and then distribute energy.
Knowing this time represents a doorway, a great cycle of opportunity.
Strengthen the channel of Light, now.
Awaken an interest in the Spirit of Love and Goodwill. Organize and mobilize the Good in your world.
“Goodwill to All & to All the Will-to-Good!“
Woof-Woof-Woof-Awoooooooooo!
Don’t Forget!
