In the Northern Hemisphere, the Winter Solstice occurs on 21st or 22nd of December, when the sun shines directly over the tropic of Capricorn. At sunrise on the shortest day of the year, for 17 minutes, direct sunlight can enter the Newgrange monument, not through the doorway, but through the specially contrived small opening above the entrance known as the ‘roof box’, to illuminate the Chamber.
Hello–thinking about Kingship/Sovereignty last night put me in mind of one of my very favorite movies, I Know Where I’m Going with Wendy Hiller ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJFRJbVwTJ0 ). A determined young woman faces a choice between two men, one linked to money/capital, the other embodying the Land. It’s magical. It’s all there. I could watch it anytime. I’d love to know if anyone checks this out.
