Council Chat

with Caroline’s notes

Well, that was rousing and engaged,

renewing our enthusos  for life…that which makes the divine within us dance!

(and twould be grand to excavate David’s blessing, which was deft …)

May we all be so exhausted by AI and technology
that we sleep the deepest sleep and dream the dreams that make us the most human

All  life is a journey of sequential unfolding…and meandering,

and broad curiosity….(Jupiter)

and wonder (Neptune)….

The journey more important than the arrival…

Jupiter asks us to define wealth, so we take it back to Saturn, the Wizard of defining…

“Better with the learned dwell, even though it be in hell, than with fools roam, palaces that gods call home,” sayeth the “Pancha Tantra”… Real wealth is learning, and associating with always learning friends…

Quest begins with a question…

and a wondering ….

What be our deepest dedication?

From Carol Loewenstein to Everyone:
Gorgeous…Powerful!

From Richard~Badger to Everyone:
song = “Hope Comes” by The Bengsons

From Betsy Spencer Boone to Everyone:
What’s the significance of Chiron conjunct Mercury? My hand is raised.

Yes, through the Jupiterian lens … every planet asks us a question….”For what are you enthused to be a voice?”

and with Chiron… Mathew Arnold: “to be cultured is to be acquainted with the highest possibilities of the human spirit throughout time….”

(I always like transcending species-ism, highest possibilities of wolves and hedgehogs etc…)

From what in each of our journey, to be ever more cultured, is eager for us to give fresh language, fresh expression, and by doing so, bring it alive…

From Heather McDonald-Sand (she/her) to Everyone:
*What if we could teach AI poetry?

From Alexis Halbert to Everyone:
AI can write poetry! My husband likes playing around with AI…pretty interesting

From Eryn Alloway to Everyone:
& I think some people are playing with AI to generate poetry on ChatGPT and such things?

From Richard~Badger to Everyone:
I feel the trickiest part of teaching Ai poetry is getting Ai to understand what the function of poetry is. Or the Why ?

From Eryn Alloway to Everyone:
The soul of poetry perhaps …
same with art .. the Why … the perspective …

From Heather McDonald-Sand (she/her) to Everyone:
I’m more interested in training AI with great human poetry rather than asking it to create machine poetry.  (That scares me a bit TBH).  …. Yeah Eryn, to inject that into our AI and see what comes back!

Yes, tis a spooky worthy conversational wondering….

Since tis not going away…

How might we Jupiter, guide and bless

(and twould be grand to excavate David’s blessing, which was deft …)

 From Eryn Alloway to Everyone:
Reacted to “I’m more interested …” with 👍

From Verne Zimmer SMI 19 to Everyone:
8:13:58 am
Thankyou : I get 8:14:20 =- Pluto at 0 Aquarius 00

From Verne Zimmer SMI 19 to Everyone:
? on Jupiter Chapter. 5 Acts to a story. Is that why Bill McKibben found 3rd Act?

Well it works on a lot of levels… Bill and Akaya thought they meant – the last third of life as contributing…but in our Act V realm – Act III is “Oops…” although we collectively seem to be well into Act IV to Act V…

From Verne Zimmer SMI 19 to Everyone:

Dan Winter suggests AI can not make art because it does not have a soul or life.

and thus might it make us more stupid….?

a wag: “Americans have become gustatory morons, only perceiving salty or sweet…,”

and thus losing complexity, nuance….

If we eat junk food, we start to lose our recognition of nourishing  good food

If we imbibe the toxic mimic, might we lessen our receptors for the genuine…

….

From Alexis Halbert to Everyone:
I guess I have fear of AI because I fear the loss of humanity (in general)…thanks for the reflection…

or the loss of what is truly unique….

Yes, Walter Benjamin : The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical reproduction.”

 From Eryn Alloway to Everyone:
I want to hopefully bring in the Jupiter => Intuition that was mentioned in the beginning too

From Heather McDonald-Sand (she/her) to Everyone:
My concern is that not everyone can recognize the difference between real art and AI art nor do they all care.  However, the same concern occurred in response to the invention and spreading of photography, so we’ll figure it out eventually!

From Eryn Alloway to Everyone:
And I found John Berger’s “Way of Seeing” on my bookshelf just now so I will plan to scan the chapter on the nude for us to read if desired

Eryn you most skookum agent of synchronous serendipity….Thankyou – what a great sharing with the team…

20:10:11 From Carol Loewenstein to Everyone:
Well….What if…What if an AI poem actually moves someone in a deep profound way that brings them to positive change …Who knows?  What if?…Who’s to judge all that???

not judge (always imprisoning) but diagnostic discerning (liberating)…wary coyote conundrum…

From Carol Loewenstein to Everyone:
At some synchronistic time for them…

yes, magic be alive in all realms…

From Elizabeth to Everyone:
It’s feels like real generosity has enthusiasm

yes yes yes…

 From Eryn Alloway to Everyone:
Oo yes

From Eryn Alloway to Everyone:
Or it’s the same thing as the Cabalistic Jupiter Meditation … if it feels like effort, it’s not the thing

yes yes yes

From Kathryn (she/her) to Everyone:
Eryn, yes 🙂

From Kathryn (she/her) to Everyone:
Thank you so much

From Verne Zimmer SMI 19 to Everyone:
Yeh.

From Fay Senner to Everyone:
This was great, so inspiring thank you.

From Caroline Casey to Everyone:
Yes! Elizabeth – real generosity has enthusiasm and blessing!!!

From carmensnyder to Everyone:
Thank you!

Council Notes

Jupiter – the Storyteller within us all
and that we live in a storytelling creation
that everything is telling us its story all the time
and if we just approached the world with Jupiterian curiosity, we would be ok

the big transits, when we go through them, they are intended to bring us to our knees … to break one down, so that we ask for help

having a strong Jupiter on an angle, is called having a guardian angel … to help us from staring into the abyss, to snap us out of gloom, or obsession .. the part that buoys back up to the top

David Grimes “If we’re not having fun, we’re just not serious enough”

we get to be agents of Jupiter
Agents of Blessings

“some stranger remembers you, because you were kind to them”

Jupiter’s primary response to life is curiosity
“how interesting! … what are we going to do?”

Last night was dark of moon and Vernal Equinox,
Dark of Moon was in Pisces, Jupiter’s sign,
New moon was this morning (3/21)
… a splendid opportunity to sift through and decide, what we do want to bring with us into this quickening

Jupiter is known as “the ruler” (the kin) of Sagittarius
the faery world, the fairytale
manners are crucial in the fairy world

Jupiter is called exalted in Cancer
the sign of its exaltation
an ancient tradition, archway in Turkey (c 2300 yrs old) shows the planets in their signs of exaltation
Cancer providing nourishment
“People need stories more than they need bread” -Arabian Nights

Jupiter is our horses,
if we get tense, or someone else does, we speak to the restless sense, “Easy … Easy … it’s not a trap, here’s an apple”

There’s some things that Jupiter moves beyond
Jupiter says life is a journey, a caravanserai,
we do this, and then we do this, and it shapeshifts

Saturn-Jupiter
We don’t need to make decisions (imposing structure)
we get to make intentions
sometimes Jupiter says, if something feels like a decision, then go back inside, clarify Saturn, and re-emerge when it feels like a enthused dedication

some guidelines for astrology
… to interfere with somebody’s sense of what is possible for them is spiritual harassment
… we do like the dark side, and shadow of everything
but discernment

Jupiter Meditation
simple Cabbalistic blessing
according to our own rhythm, breath in and out
imagine sending blessings to all creatures above
receiving blessings from all creatures above,
…below, …east, …south, …west, …north
“if it feels like the slightest bit of effort, that’s not it”

Jupiter Blessing Meditation
good at the beginning of the day

Saturn-Jupiter
constrict-expand
they go together, they are dance partners
that is nature of the universe

the art of blessing
all cultures really have this

John O’Donoghue form of blessing is so useful
“when this (difficult thing), then this (wonderful thing)”
“when your boat is sinking in rough way, then may the moon spin a silver pathway upon which you may walk to shore”

people are quite good at “this terrible thing”
but the blessings got abstract
it wants to be a tangible metaphor
“Metaphor is the incarnational garb whereby power enters the world”
… where’s the cloak, the path, the mango
the sensual thing, how do we paint with words

The Theme of Grievance
Pat Ewing asked, what is the antonym of grievance?
Gratitude!
And that is the antidote to the world right now

Terry Pratchett novel, “I shall wear midnight”
The cunning-man comes to town and creates Mob Mind
finds a home in the hearts of all who harbor grievance

Grievance is hatred and Grief is love
Grief is poignancy, it’s a river, it’s because we love something

So much right wing tyranny runs on grievance
So we are here to ladle out blessing
“may it go well for you”

in the faerytale, there is often the impossible task
“sort these seeds by morning or death”
and the ants come along, and say “you were kind to us when no one else was” (important) and they sort all night

wheel and deal
part of our daily ritual
keeping our promise
part of our playfulness
our collaborative playfulness

there was an academic study of luck at cambridge
and they essentially proved that luck increases
when we run on the fuel of curiosity and kindness
(Jupiter)

What’s the story we want to animate?

there’s a shadow thing, flattery, inauthentic
Barbara Goodrich-Dunn “when people flatter you, they are paying you for what they are about to take”

As we are wondering in our journey together,
what is our primary dedication, as we craft and wonder
we can all bless each other’s dedications without even knowing what it is

“whatever we speak to in another, is the part of them we are inviting to dance with the corresponding part of ourselves”

judgement invites the least interesting part of ourselves to dance with the least interesting part of the other person

Jupiter is part of the “Woof! Woof! Wanna Play?!?”

Our manner of relating should be an offering, rather than imposition
and offering is something which we have no attachment to how it is received
we journey onward

part of our skills is to, Saturn, define things,
fueled by Jupiter, curiosity
asking people to define their themes is useful and wonderful and reveletory
finding the common story

Thursday, Jupiter’s day, is a day of story and blessing
**The tale of Mushkil Gupta
If you tell the tale of Mushkil Gupta or give a gift in the name of Mushkil Gupta all

*Neil Douglas Klotz
Aramaic scholar … Aramaic is plant based
Blessed are the meek .. “Blessed are those who soften emotional rigidity in their own hearts …”
“Blessed are those who plant peace”

Jupiter says there can be 20, 30, 40 stories available at once, which is the one we want to dedicate to
In difficult circumstance … which story are we going to vote for

anything we study, is how synchronicity is speaks to us
(our dedications)

The Norns spin the length of our life thread, stamen
but the word stamina
implies we have agency, we can length it and thicken it

our craft, our vessel,
our coracles
how Inanna sails to Anki’s island to steal culture back

Language, Metaphor, Story
we want to be (Jupiter) expanding our vocabulary
so we have more choice
each word we use is a way of relating with the word

part of this transition
from dark of moon to new moon
as we move into Aries
What are the stories we are leaving behind?
when we tell a story, we are feeding it
the repetition, becomes our repertoire

often in conflict, it’s a story, it takes one person to step out and change the dynamic

let us open portals to reframe refugees as pilgrims,
let us syncretize what is beautiful from cultures all over,
“come in and tell us your stories, because those are the stories we must need most right now”

*recommending “The Arabian Nights” on youtube
there’s a 2 hour version and a 6 hour version
the 6 hour version is so wonderful
Scherazade frame-story

Hester “Why am i talking to these people right now, and what do I want to do with it … what do I want them to do?”

New beginnings
Equinox
New Moon
Pluto moving into Aquarius
Pluto has been in Capricorn for 8-9 stressing the system
and will be in Aquarius for much longer

Equinox, we have moved into Aries
Mars is our guide for this season
Jupiter in Aries
quintiling Mars
how do we want to liberate and guide Mars in the world
may it be dedicated to community wellbeing

Discussing AI and poetry …

*Essay (1930s) walter benjamin
“the work of art in the age of mechanical reproduction”
… will it lose it’s soul, intimacy

what would be the blessing
the incentive for the positive thing

we are allowed to send forth anything we would be the happy recipient
.. if anyone is abusing power, put their name on a piece of paper and put it in the freezer to cool them out
“may all abusing power be moved to a place where they can no longer harm themselves by harming others”

Virgina Daley’s dream
in the dream there is a spooky bad figure stirring a cauldron
and a voice in the dream says “you must take hold of the story-stirring stick and stir it in the other direction”
as she makes her way through, like molasses, and takes hold of the stick, and the figure releases it, and she stirs it in the other direction

reversal magic, this is what we need
with a blessing
“may anything up to no good be revealed, rendered harmless, and in the fullness of time, an occasion for mirth”

When the moon is waning, CWC likes to do things in the counterclockwise direction
and new moon, clockwise

we are getting out of the vituperative polarity
and we want to waft the mist
to create a metaphoric mist
(like psilocybic mushrooms and lavender)
to waft and cool things out

* John Berger
we want to bring in the mentors
Ways of Seeing
Chapter in the nude in art
>> EA has, will scan for all to read

Jupiter-Uranus Intuition
in this astrological language, intuition is a real thing, it’s a journey
in which one is putting actual research on the worktable
requires the journey of research to hone the perception to see the pattern – the rapid perception of specific potential
“Guide me to find the specific useful thing most needed now”

as we make vows, they really help, we can be better than ourselves

Jupiterian Generosity
real vs the image of the thing
real charisma is a charitable heart
real generosity is not referential
it’s the sending and receiving, (effortless)

Jupiter is not fond of obligation

the chant
“Got to … Get to!”
Got to is outsourced Saturn, creates resistance
Get to is opens us up, playfully

the truth is a feeling
we are liberating ourselves from obligatory generosity
dissolving that

and toasts
toasts can be spicy and playful

  1. Did the pdf of the next few chapters of the book go out for tonight’s group? I have’t gotten those yet, and I’m still waiting for the hard copy to arrive. Also, is there a way I can post a picture here?

    Thanks!
    Fay

  2. Elizabeth Motyka

Hi everyone I so enjoyed our Jupiter session together , so rousing! I wanted to offer a blessing to the group
When the alarm clock of grievance and resentment rings in our mind, may we waken instead to a slow Saturday morning in our heart, with pillows of beauty, comforters of kindness, and a bouncy mattress of sacred enthusiasm from which to face the day !
