“So I asked the raven as he passed by,
I said, ‘Tell me, raven, why’d you make the sky?”
‘The Moon and stars, I threw them high,
I needed someplace to be flying.'”

Yo Team, such a rich array of living patterns inviting our engagement!:
Saturn retrograde opposes Uranus (the 4th of 5, electing reality pattersn inviting us to do deeper word and metaphor play, especially as Jupiter, story-telling, draws nigh to Uranus, the electric bloom of possibilities.) First we release ourselves from imprisoning word patterns, then we make room for flight, following Trickster Raven’s lead.
Here’s what I wrote as copy for my Bioneers talk on October 16th. Let’s work it now:
Trickster Medicine: Co-Operators Are Standing By!
Let’s define “magic” as simply a willingness to co-operate with everything,
and metaphors as the incarnational garb whereby power enters the world.
We journey to a time before the term “deity” exists. That word is a dead giveaway/ divisive signature of lost cultural pan reverent intimacy with the rocks, flora, and fauna.
For our first trick, let’s substitute the word “metaphor,” ever time we see the words “Gods,” “gods,” “goddess.”
(Biblical example, “Our god is more powerful in war than your god,” becomes “our metaphor is more of a socio-pathic breaching kinship ding-bat than you metaphor.”) Same trick for the words, “scientific theory.” This night invites us all to the realm of shape-shifting metaphoric agility whereby to animate an irresistible guiding mythos, and send it spiralling forth into the collective memosphere, the Trickster Realm of Cultural Influence!
We further address and honor the dance of the Sun into Taurus (“The Woman of Samaria at the Ancestral Well.”) vitalizing Mercury retrograde in Taurus (“Red Cross Nurse” – willingness to go into tough situations, to alleviate the plight’s of others, that we recognize as our own.) Mercury ruling Venus, as she has entered Gemini, the realm of word play, adding creative frolic to the otherwise serious business of saturn in Virgo- the deeper Mercury realm.
Chiron has entered Pisces, making imaginatively available all the Mystery Schools resources. We ally with all humans, past, present, future, dedicated to the cultivation of our capacity to engage creatively with all beings, through the power of symbolism. (Symbolic participation or diabolic world.)
And the 28th + degree which Saturn, Neptune and uranus animate, respectively: “A WOman piecing together an ancient manuscript- bringing secret knowledge to light;” “A butterfly Emerging From a Chrysalis;” “A Prism” – Unifying vision overcoming illusory division.
Don’t forget!

Trickster Call 04_26_10

from the Portland Asklepian~
I dreamt last night of sleeping in the sea. My black skin seemed invisible within the black sea water; just a membrame seperated myself from the depths of all Creation (a golden glowing beneath me, below the deep sea floor). I felt no coolness, my body temperature had matched the water. I looked down to my smooth sleek form and played with the water with my back fin, moving it up and down, letting the water slide off of my skin. As I rose up out of a sleep that was not sleep (it was pure resting and connection into the golden world below the black waters), I thought, ‘humans should really get into this. You never see any of us with neck and back pain.’ I looked down at my body again and felt the pleasure of the fat I stored below this skin, how rich and buoyant I was, how warm. Waking up into this world, into this Rebecca form, I felt like a black skin slipped off of me and as I emerged in human wakefulness;
But, wow, how can I tell you how good I feel this morning? Dry earth gravity is a bit of a downer, but my sea self is well rested. ~Rebecca in Portland
Rebecca, your narrative is so beautiful that it took me along for a restorative visualization.

Hi –
I thought some of you might like to check out an article in the New York Times. There’s a photo of Paul Stamets and some conversation with him about growing mushrooms. The article is called, “Do-It-Yourself Mushrooms”. Here’s the link:http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/15/garden/15mushrooms.html?pagewanted=1.
