Mythic Time with Mercury, and the Full Moon-
“gate’ gate’ paragate’ parasamgate’ – Bodhi Svaha!”
(“Gone, gone, completely gone, beyond gone,
extinguished into Vast Heart…” from the Heart Sutra
says Mercury)
Reminding me that I used to chant the Heart Sutra
everyday during the Zen Buddhist phase of my life.
Here be a translation from Thich Nhat Hanh:
The Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore
Avalokiteshvara
while practicing deeply with
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore,
suddenly discovered that
all of the five Skandhas are equally empty,
and with this realization
he overcame all Ill-being.
“Listen Sariputra,
this Body itself is Emptiness
and Emptiness itself is this Body.
This Body is not other than Emptiness
and Emptiness is not other than this Body.
The same is true of Feelings,
Perceptions, Mental Formations,
and Consciousness.
“Listen Sariputra,
all phenomena bear the mark of Emptiness;
their true nature is the nature of
no Birth no Death,
no Being no Non-being,
no Defilement no Purity,
no Increasing no Decreasing.
“That is why in Emptiness,
Body, Feelings, Perceptions,
Mental Formations and Consciousness
are not separate self entities.
The Eighteen Realms of Phenomena
which are the six Sense Organs,
the six Sense Objects,
and the six Consciousnesses
are also not separate self entities.
The Twelve Links of Interdependent Arising
and their Extinction
are also not separate self entities.
Ill-being, the Causes of Ill-being,
the End of Ill-being, the Path,
insight and attainment,
are also not separate self entities.
Whoever can see this
no longer needs anything to attain.
Bodhisattvas who practice
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore
see no more obstacles in their mind,
and because there
are no more obstacles in their mind,
they can overcome all fear,
destroy all wrong perceptions
and realize Perfect Nirvana.
“All Buddhas in the past, present and future
by practicing
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore
are all capable of attaining
Authentic and Perfect Enlightenment.
“Therefore Sariputra,
it should be known that
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore
is a Great Mantra,
the most illuminating mantra,
the highest mantra,
a mantra beyond compare,
the True Wisdom that has the power
to put an end to all kinds of suffering.
Therefore let us proclaim
a mantra to praise
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore.
Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha!
Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha!
Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha!”
*We may notice that at this potent Mercury stationing
at eclipse degree Full Moon with Neptune,
that once we relax into Mythic Time Reverie,
ancient memories from all the chapters
of our lives be surfacing…
Like ribbon grass, small things pull up large things –
from every chapter of our lives, so that we may peruse
our journey, and re-animate anything that has ever
been beautiful and useful to us.
As we begin to set sail into a new season unfurling before us,
all that we note from our past will kaleidoscopically
pattern itself into syncretized opportunity.
May it be so!
T’would behoove us to note these memories/chapters
*Journal bibliomancy (encore) – opening journals at
divinatory random, makes us available to our Guiding Angels.
*As Mercury be stationing at the eclipse degree
conjoining Mars – we are journeying back to originating
spark of creativity, that may have been dormant – until now!
*Dust off, and carress old projects, until they purr alive.
*Tweak our homes, until they sing.
*Encouraging the re-setting of all altars.
Always remembering that “some things are true
– but there are times when they are truer”:
“The protoplasm of reality is especially receptive
to imaginative imprint!”
so
* Let’s re-dedicate to “Dreeing our weird!”
(Playing Our Role in Destiny), writing out
(even just a short paragraph)
our “manifesto of dedicated devotion.”
Because “Co-Operators are Standing By!”
…to unfurl a path of desirable opportunities
in accord with our inward dedication.
*Let’s cahoot with the Dark Wit of
Mercury Hermes/Hermia
Mercury, part of ourselves, going back wards
to connect with originating liberating creative spark
of our being, and necessarily dislodging everything
in the way of that…
Releasing Resentments,
with wit and spice…
Small incidents, may pull up all related past kerfuffles,
back through the dawn in time….
(all the way back to Eve in the Garden,
as the first drug-bust in history, busted for
possession of a controlled substance, the
beginning of the Inquisition, we intend to
conclude – now!-ish.)
As we observe rudeness in self and others,
(from Yahweh on…) we can release in self and
others any addiction to resentment, as a
compensatory distraction from what may be
really important…
*Consider Resentments as incentives to
prolific productivity and to hone
liberating trickster wit.
(Not always to be externally expressed,
but to be chortled inwardly to liberate ourselves…)
Someone left a voice message saying,
“a month ago, you said something that has
rankled me since.” (“Grrr,”was my initial reaction…
but then,via metaphoric agility, I thought,
“O, a resentment fart, which they’ve been holding in
for a month. By all means let it out,” and when the
fresh winds of change have dispelled, absolutely let’s
converse.… And as a wag said “Each person loves the
smell of their own fart,” as a creative analogy, when
people are not always discerning about their own
creative projects.
All by way of clearing the path of distractions that
we may avail ourselves of the opportunity granted to
each of us, to bring something Mysterious and Ancient,
alive in a creatively expressive new manner…
Onward team of fellow adorably befoibled mythic
heroes/heroines journeying jauntily into a desirable future.
