  3. Will be savoring and listening to replay this weekend! Tuesday found me in the middle of a gale at a vacation air bnb and I could not stay connected more than a few seconds at a time. I have a couple more Tuesday schedule conflicts but clear after that. Am at office (less distractions!) and have pulled out my portable altar box which is hidden in plain view on my bookcase, and begun setup. I happen to have a deck called the Old English Tarot here, and the Magician card is now on my altar cloth. And over the past couple days interesting money freeups have happened. 🙂

  4. I would like to nominate “Mother Borgia”, a teaching nun of the Ursuline Order who mentored me as an academic and as an artist when I was in high school.
    I attended a convent boarding school and haven’t thought of it for years, but my granddaughter found a copy of my 1959 graduation year book on the internet and forwarded the link to me. (Tuesday, Oct 13, 8:51 p.m.) As I look back at the images of 17 year old catholic girls and their Sodality, mission, religious and academic associations….I wondered. How different can the transformative experiences of my life and the supposed lives of my former classmates be from the experiences, say, of an Amy Coney Barrett?
    We are in interesting times. Can elevation to SCOTUS (assuming it is an elevation) prevent ACB from the forces of change we have all embraced/ endured? Do we really know what she is made of in a way that we would wish others to believe that they know what we are made of? Haste makes waste. Trump’s haste in this becomes an undoing. Beyond the simple truth that my opinion on this choice doesn’t count for anything substantive, I choose to see the choice ultimately serving beauty and usefulness…for starters.

  8. I nominate our ancestor, Rachel Carson who was born just a few miles from where I sit. I value her for alert observation both caring and careful and for voicing what she observed, also for knowing and speaking the importance of a “sense of wonder”.
